Since I'm stuck at home with a stomach virus taking us out one by one (not me yet , I can watch football all day long. That is while I'm not doing laundry, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, etc. I guess every weekend can't be a festival weekend.
I like Gary Patterson. After Tommy Bowden left (forced out), there was a lot of talk about him being our coach. I think he interviewed for the job. I'm happy with Dabo, but I hope Patterson doesn't get hired in the ACC. Go somewhere where we don't have to face him. He would make a great coach for UT.
UT needs to take a look at Charlie Strong as well. IMO, some big team needs to snatch him up.
He would be a good hire from what I have read about him. With all the Gruden hoopla, people really haven't been thinking about other coaches. Even though they won today, I think Dooley took another step towards the door today, so people should start doing some research.

Strong is an excellent coach, and a great recruiter! who has a lot of ties with south Florida football schools. When I posted the other day, I thought of Strong, but he is a Gator and I would be sad if he coached at UT.

I know it could be hard to justify taking Bama if there are three undefeated teams, but I don't really know if anyone legitimately thinks Oregon and Notre Dame are better than Alabama.

If 'Bama keeps playing like they've been playing for the past two weeks, I think they are. And I'm saying this as a 'Bama fan.
Maybe we'll have a freak occurrence like last year and K-State and Notre Dame will lose in one weekend. I don't see Oregon losing any time soon, though.

I think Bama is still ~40% to make the championship game. ND has played way too many close games. I think there's a good chance, ~60%, that they drop one to Wake Forest or USC. Oregon has 3 ranked opponents in a row. Granted, their margin of victories have been very high, so the odds they drop one of these is still only 40-50%. Kstate only has Texas to get past. They're probably 80-85% in.

ND plays close games by design. Control the clock and dare offenses to put up points on their NFL-sized front 7 (they can't).

^^ That's fine, but the closer the games, the higher the variance. Honestly, they should have lost to Pitt though, that was ridiculously lucky. Purdue by 3, BYU by 3, Pitt in OT. Let's face it, they're no championship contender. I will give them credit for the OU game though, that was impressive.
