Uconn is going? Since when? Louisville was picked to go to the ACC over them.
If you think Big East basketball is not going to matter all of a sudden, that's fine. You leaving Cincy, Marquette, Providence and Seton Hall off your list of legit basketball schools shows that you should stick to football.
UConn will be in the acc eventually. either when they go to 16 teams or after Clemson and fsu leave. cincy wants to go to the acc as well.
Right, so they aren't leaving and they are still included in Big East basketball, which has 6-7 quality teams in it.
Losing Pitt and Cuse bothers me the most. Those teams are football wastelands, but their basketball programs are special. They sacrificed that for the sake of chasing a couple extra million dollars in the ACC. I hope both schools feel that pain in their wallets. Big East brand of basketball was NBA-level. You didn't bring soft spread offenses into the Carrier dome and expect to run freely without getting shoved, slammed, elbowed, etc. Tough defense, tough half-court offense and NBA talent out the wazoo.

No one else may give two sh*ts, but I do.
acc is becoming like the new big east. it's going to be an amazing basketball conference now. I don't understand Maryland leaving. but it's all about the money. a bunch of these moves don't make sense.
ACC is already a really good basketball conference. The ACC and Big East were the best two conferences in college basketball, and none of the teams leaving the Big East have great football programs (well, mainly because none of the teams in the conference do). Rutgers is much better at football than basketball so it makes sense for them, but the rest? Pitt, Cuse and Louisville are all bball schools with inconsistently successful football programs. They're going to a tougher football division (which isn't saying much, but still) and a tougher basketball division.
I realize money is driving these things, but I don't understand how a team that sucks at football but is exceptional at basketball will make more money going to a better football conference and what will soon be a better basketball conference once all these additions take hold.

Whatever, I still hate you
56 and counting....
the teams that are joining the acc are going to be really disappointed if fsu and Clemson leave. then it's just a great basketball conference and it's no better than the conference that they just left. i guess they will still be getting more money though.
I'm not sure where they're coming from, but I've only posted in here and in the mafia thread recently. I've noticed my awesome points have been increasing. Whoever it is, please stop. I am currently the winner of negative awesome points game and do not want to lose this title. Thank you and good day sirs and mams.
I haven't been doing it but would like to say that you're not bad for a homophobe .

From adjacent posts on my Facebook page:
"We never sat down and scheduled a meeting. Coach Gruden declined a meeting," a Tennessee source told ESPN.com. "Financial details weren't discussed because it never got to that point."
Gruden will be announced this afternoon which is what I've been told by someone close to the situation.... I'm still leary but that's what I was told by a reliable source so i guess we will see..... I wish they would just say it already!!!

Sang/Steph,I was reading up a little on Chad Morris being in the running for the NC State job, but it seems he is out of the running now. Thought you might want to know. Any other schools that might snatch him up?
I swear the more I read about this coaching search, the more insane it gets. There's intrigue, betrayal, conflicting personalities and vicious power plays. It's like a soap opera but awesome.
In other news, Fisher said today that he has not talked to Dave Hart and that he is focused on the game tomorrow.

From what I hear the NC State interview was to just get the experience of interviewing for a head coach position. I think he'll stick around Clemson a little while longer. He just built a house & from what I hear wants his daughter to not have to change schools again so soon. I love Chad & hope we keep him. Heck, my Cintas guy this week wanted the powers to be to fire Dabo & hire Chad as HC. This is only his 3rd year coaching college, & he's the highest paid assistant coach in the country. There will be many who come calling for him.
I haven't been this excited about a Championship game in a long time. Two such storied programs will definitely make for a great one. I'll be rooting for the Irish, but I don't think they can take Alabama. Saban is 3-0 in the big game and history tends to repeat itself.
Glad to see ND having some success again though. Of course they might lay all of their jerseys on Brian Kelly's desk before the game unless he plays Rudy. Hope that gets cleared up before hand.

Shit! I was at work, I saw the Bama Int and thought it was over, I went back to work. A few minutes later I check back and Bama is celebrating and the game is over. I figured they just ran out the clock, now I get home and read about that ending. That was a good game. Georgia has nothing to be ashamed of, they and Bama played their asses off. Hope everyone enjoyed that National Championship game, as much as I did.
I am insanely proud of my Bulldogs. Although it was a heartbreaking loss, and could have ended differently, the team played with heart and with class....as did Alabama.
Clearly one of the best college football games that I have ever seen (had it recorded on DVR so I watched what I missed before I got off work).
And...I'm not so sure that given a rematch under ideal conditions, that we couldn't have pulled off the win. It was that close.
The real travesty of the whole situation is that under the royally effed up BCS system, the loser of that game between #2 and #3 in the nation now may miss out on a BCS bowl bid at all. Could have been Alabama just as easily, and it's wrong for either team to miss out on a major bowl with the performances they gave during the regular season and last night.
I will leave you with this: DAMN GOOD DAWG!!!! WOOF WOOF WOOF
