pack half as much as you think you need go easy on food i spent so much on food that i didn't need at all
since your already here you will be really prepared i sat on this board like 6 months prior to roo and i took all their advice and while it is good you should do about half of what everyone says

probably true however, everything you need is there so long as you bring some extra money and have the essentials you will be fine i just spent oodles of money last year on things i didn't need and when i brought it all back i was like the hell was this for...
I disagree in the sense, if you have the room when you travel bring a bunch of stuff. If you don't need it, you can take it back home, lend it to a neighbor because they took the above advice lolz, or gift it if it is food or drink or? The guy on the Weird Al thing is someone a bit like me. Hey ya want, ya need, I got it here, let me look . Anyway that's how I work. Where you are camp might be a trip depending so be sure you begin noticing where you are. You can always see the clock tower for a general of where you are. We have always been able to camp close to the entrance so if ya get lost, drop on by our tent and we will help ya. Just look for a car with a blue tarp haha. ...... cr****

There's so much awesome general advice everywhere on this board that I won't bother with any of that except to say...welcome to Roo, and you're gonna have a great time!
As for your specific question about knowing where you're going - when you first arrive, you'll be given a guide (one for each person in your group). It's got the schedule, the map, and a bunch of other useful information. In the past, they've occasionally run out of guides - if this happens, keep in mind that they just ran out at the specific entrance you're coming through - there are almost certainly plenty of guides somewhere, they just haven't managed to get a new batch to that entrance yet. So if you don't get a guide when you arrive, stop by the main info booth in Centeroo at some point and see if they have one. I think the pods in the campsite might possibly have them as well, but I'm not positive.
I'm virtually positive I remember seeing giant maps and schedules posted around Centeroo as well (and maybe at the pods too?) so if you lose your guide or aren't carrying it at some point, you should be able to find one of those.
Really, though, getting lost is one of the last things you need to worry about. Some people get the lay of the land immediately...and then there are people like me...after five Roos I still never know where anything is. (Clearly I'm one of those people who can get lost in my own backyard...) It really doesn't make a difference, though - there's so much stuff to see and so much going on that you absolutely NEED to spend some time just wandering around or you'll miss so much. Get the map out and figure out where you're going for those shows you absolutely can't stand to miss a minute of...and apart from that, just wander around and see what there is to see!
You'll get where you're going eventually, even if it turns out not to be where you THOUGHT you were going.
Just keep in mind that 'Roo is a marathon, not a sprint.
Unless you're those people trying to get the first spot in line for a headliner pit... It's like watching the running of the bulls. I say this year we place bets and make it interesting
I am a Roo virgin this year. It has always been a huge dream of mine to make it to the festival and it's finally happening. I have so many questions and this board has been great at helping my best friend (another virgin) and I get prepared. Anyone else young and from the tri state (PA,NJ,DE)?? Can't wait for brunch!
