Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Voodoo is the perfect festival IMO because it is halloween weekend in quacking New Orleans. The weather is great, the park is beautiful, there are always new music discoveries at this fest, there's always a variety of music genres represented at the fest, plenty of freaks about in costume that generate lotsa lulz, and there are always a ton of awesome late night shows to choose from (some of which go on until daylight). If you don't have fun at this festival...you don't know what the quack you're doing.
What is the point of this? Like the Moog fanboys aren't gonna put it over the top.
I imagine the 16,907 Bonnaroo supporters on here will be the ones putting it over the top.
That's a given though. By far, the most popular thread(s) in this subforum was for Moogfest, so what he means is that a vote would obviously yield Roo vs Moog as the top two contenders regardless of the quality/history/etc of the other festivals. Ermahgerd, Ashrey Capps!
There seems to be a little bit of debate on a few of the festivals. Some of the ones that are being talked about are:
Electric Forest Mountain Jam All Good Summer Camp Voodoo Wakarusa
We can only let 3 of those 6 in.
Which ones?
(Moog stays)
I appreciate you adding some other options but why does moog stay? 6k people venue hopping for 2 days isn't even close to the other fests. Moog has good lineups and I've heard nothing but good things about it but what's the logic in it being there? Your thread so w.e you want to do, just curious. If it's just your favorite that's cool.
Also all good, waka, and eff. EFF just for it being the most visually amazing festival (outside burning man) and the best weather.
I have no idea what's going on because the OP was very vague, but maybe it was referencing a post from a different thread...I've been away from this forum for a week and haven't caught up. I'm just saying if this came down to a vote, that would basically be what would happen. Fuck this thread. Best fests are completely a matter of opinion and experience. We're certainly not going to influence other people here no matter how many walls of text and pretty pictures we post.

This bracket is going to be just that - the collections of votes based on personal opinions in regards to different festivals. Its just for fun. Its not to change people's minds about anything at all.
Yes, I got the idea from a post someone made on another thread, and just kind of ran with it. Voting for the first matchups will start tomorrow night.

I left Moog because of how outstandingly popular it is here. It may not be as big as others, or have as much history or whatever - but from what Ive read from the 2 Moog threads, it was a pretty amazing fest in 2012.

I'd vote for All Good, Voodoo, and Waka for those spots.
Moog isn't popular around here because of ACE, it's popular because the last 3 lineups have been very unique. They book acts that don't tend to pop up on the North American festival circuit very often, if at all. Since most of the people who post on this sub-forum hit up multiple festivals per year, it makes sense that something different is going to get a lot of love. Tangerine Dream, Suicide, Squarepusher, Terry Riley, Orbital, Massive Attack....those are all impressive gets, and Moog was the only one that booked each of them in their respective years.
You're lucky I can't hit you with this bottle of piss I'm holding.
This begs the question of why on earth are you holding a bottle of piss? I don't mean to derail the thread, but seriously, no one has questioned this?!
Definitely allgood and voodoo should be in the 16.
Wanee has already won fest of the year status anyways.
Wanee took home the golden festie? Good for them.
Not officially, but if you were there you know it's true. Wanee was just over the top magical this year. 4/21 was one of the all time festival days I've experienced. Bigass rainbow during Viola Lee Blues > Bertha > Viola Lee Blues > Wharf Rat > Viola Lee Blues, Stella Blue > I Know You Rider
Sick Gregg led to a 4/21 ABB show with Jimmy Hall from Wet Willie on vocals....f'n badass! ABB encore w/ just Gregg, Warren and Derek... The Needle & The Damage Done! That was some heavy shiz right there.....not many dry eyes around me.
Sorry for the delay in getting the first group up. The voting will stay up until Wed night/Thursday morning. After each group goes, we will have a runoff of the 2 winners to see who makes the final 4. After that, I will match up the winner of group 1 with the winner of group 3. Then 2 v 4.
The winners of those 2 matchups will be in the finals for voting.
