Pumped up kicks and don't stop we're pretty big. I'm not saying Lumineers aren't big. I just think they'd be more fit for a afternoon or early evening. Lumineers are great, I have the album and its fantastic so I'm not hating on them. I just don't think their style really fits a which closer. Passion Pit makes more sense as they've been around awhile and their style has a lot more energy in the same sense that FtP does. It's not necessarily a popularity issue.

I always wonder why 'Roo books such hyper-generic pop groups like Mumford, Of Monsters & Men, and the Lumineers. I mean, there's loads of bands with crowd pleasing sensibility that aren't watered down, near merit-less top 40 slop.
I can't imagine Yo La Tengo costing more to book than Mumford.
I can't imagine The Mountain Goats being more to book than Lumineers.
So it's obviously not about money. And if they want young hip bands, why don't they at least book groups with actual musical worth, like Beach House, Mac Demarco, or Frank Ocean?

Because none of the bands you mentioned would draw this crowd.

Maybe you should check out a different festival.
I don't mean that as a slight. I like all those bands but if those are the only bands you're interetested in you should check Pitchfork or Coachella or something.
Mumford, Foster the People, RHCP, etc., put asses in the seats. You have to break even before you can book that awesome, super-talented-but-not-as-popular band. I'll take a band I don't care for on the Which any day. They draw people away from the tent shows.
There will literally ALWAYS be a band I want to see at any given time at Roo.

You're right, not that I don't love Bonnaroo (I wouldn't be wasting entire days on here if I didn't), but why can't there be a festival tailored EXACTLY to me. More importantly, why don't I get everything I want, ALL the time?

You're right as well. I always forget there are actually people out there that go to 'Roo for Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, FTP, and Two Door Cinema Club.
