Bassnectar's tour dates put him at Spring Awakening in Chicago June 14-16 which would mean he'd be playing Thursday if he is in fact at Bonnaroo.
What's more likely: that Bassnectar is playing three straight nights at Spring Awakening, or that he's playing one of those nights, only he doesn't know which one exactly yet so he put all three of the dates up on his tour?

exactly what I was thinking, though I'm definitely NOT lobbying for Bassnectar at 'Roo

From everything I have heard Lorin will be playing the Saturday night show at Spring Awakening. Which could easily put him at Roo on Friday night. No matter what the schedule is he can (and 95 percent sure) will be playing Roo. Just FYI.

I'm putting forth an honest effort to not make the same mistake this year that I did last year which was going to see only the bands I know and ignoring the rest...
That being said, I'm trying to research some of the bands and stuff that are already confirmed so I can get a feel for their music. I'm really digging on Alt-J and FJM though naturally their live vids on YouTube are so much better than their album recordings.
Which speculated acts would you guys recommend researching as a "must see" especially the likely Thursday acts? I like ALL kinds of music: Jam, Indie, EDM, hip-hop, rock, bluegrass... to name a few.
Just looking for some new music that I can give an honest listen to. Thanks in advance, yo.

Also ftr, Pretty Lights > Bassnectar.
I would wait until the line-up comes out as far as speculated bands go. It's only 13 days, and both Bonnaroo and multiple people on here will make Spotify playlists.

I'm a little curious how this would work. Would he play midnight to 2 and Saturday AM and then peace to Chicago for a HL spot there? Doable, but that's a long day and the timing seems tight. Maybe close the Which Friday? (WHOA KILLING THE SPIRIT OF BONNAROO ALERT)

good call on the spotify playlists I'm working on that now. I have nothing better to do at work right now than listen to music and surf the roo boards. But that's what i've been doing daily for the past two weeks.

Trombone Shorty, Local Natives, Passion Pit, Tame Impala, Swans, Japandroids, Bjork, Purity Ring, Cat Power, Jim James, Pretty Lights, Death Grips will give you a pretty good cross section of the type of stuff that will be there.
But yea, do what other posters have said and just check out threads here and watch youtube videos posted. Even if an artist that has a thread on here isn't here then hey, you just checked out another band so you can't really lose. The spotify playlist is a good suggestion as well.
Just got back from a Punch Brother's concert and I talked to Chris from the band and asked him about Roo. He said that they weren't going this year but that he thought he heard that their banjo player Noam would be there with Noam's other group.

His solo album is nominated for a Grammy this year, so that makes sense. Just billed as Noam Pikelny so I am not sure who is n the group.
For those of you who haven't seen or heard of the London Souls do yourself a favor and check them out. They are likely to be a pretty early Thursday band, but I guarantee you they quacking rock
What else you got Bacon?? I did do myself a favor, and now I can't stop listening to them! Wiki said they were suppose to have an album out in January, can't find it anywhere, So yeah, anyway, keep this shit coming dude! Thanks

A friend asked me if the Vaccines will be at roo this year, Ive been looking through but I can't find it, I could swear that the vaccines were confirmed some times in the last few weeks.

He used to be a member of Leftover Salmon, fwiw.
Yeah the info about Noam being there came from Chris and he didn't really know the name of his group. He said he thinks it is called Noam Pikelny and friends or something like that. He wasn't sure though.

They didn't come out after the show
I emailed their management about a month ago and they gave me a Lolla confirmation but nothing about Roo...I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks.
FWIW they were amazing tonight, way better than I expected.

I still can't believe they booked them.
I hope they dont overlap with Alt-J. I wanna see both these and Alt-J sold out their Phila show lol
