Gorilla Manor is one of the best first albums I have ever heard. They were fantastic in 2010, they were one of my most anticipated acts and also the first Bonnaroo set I ever saw. I pray to Larry David they will be back on the farm this year. And I certainly do think they've outgrown a Thursday slot!
They were great in 2010. Think they've outgrown a Thursday slot?
You would have to think so, they've proven themselves successful on the road since GM, and if Hummingbird is a success there's no way they end up on Thursday... I hope...

I've avoided all streams of the new album because I pre-ordered it and I want the first time I listen to be in my room on my nice speakers. FINALLY got the shipping notice today so now I'm insanely excited!

Ceilings is a goddddamn amazing song. One might say they really explored the studio's space with that one. My favorite on the album as of right now.
Overall I think Gorilla Manor is better. But Hummingbird is a very very solid effort. Looks like they'll be all over the place this summer, can't wait! I bet Breakers would be a great opener.

I can't freaking wait to hear these songs live. I feel like they're a little more, I dunno, somber or serious than Gorilla Manor. The two albums will pair amazingly with one another.

As of right now, I can put this album next to Gorilla Manor and not be able to tell you which one is better. There are some songs on Gorilla Manor that I will probably always like the best, but as a whole body of work, its close for me right now. We'll see if this album has the same lasting appeal.

Someone recently wrote a review of Hummingbird at Tactile Tracks that talks about this very thing.

They could probably close a tent, but if there aren't any really strong acts with the same set times their tent will be mobbed. I wouldn't be surprised to see them on which if this album receives similar buzz to the debut, which it seems it might
