leaders in the club house are MBV and Nick Cave. was Yo La Tengo this month or last? and also I need to change my top 5 for last year after hearing Goat.
Yo La Tengo was January. I got the sense it was in a lot of folks' top 5 or top 3 even for the month, just not #1 for anyone. Or at least that's how it was for me.
The new STRFKR is the best album this month I've heard, but I'm gonna hold off on voting until AMOK leaks. Super strong month, though.
So far, the February tally:
Jim James - Regions of Light and Sound of God: 2 Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse: 1 Foals - Holy Fire: 1 Apparat - Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre): 1 Mount Moriah - Miracle Temple: 1 Grouper - The Man Who Died in His Boat: 1
I only need two more out of this group to make my early/changeable decision. I have my people on it.
Don't judge me dude, Where I live is not who I am or where I'm from. The French thing was a joke, I just assume Americans hate the French, the whole freedom fries and things like that. Not serious, it's just fun.
I'm not judging, I was just curious.
On the whole French Canadian thing: my mom's side of the family moved down from Quebec about 125 years ago. My girlfriend's family too, even her meme speaks French from time to time and her dad understands it. It's a pretty large French Canadian area around here, dating back to the later 1800's.
Well then I apologies for labelling you as judgmental As a maritimer, I'm a little touchy about being called a westerner or Albertan, not that there's anything wrong with that.
Wait. Are you saying this thread should only be for votes each month and not discussion? Or are you referring to something else?
Pretty much yeah. a comment here or there about albums is understandable. In a perfect world, every post would just be a vote, but I'm not that unrealistic to believe i can make it happen.

I was all set to come in here and cast my vote for How to Destroy Angels but it turns out the release date is March 5. So now not only will I have to decide between that and the new YYYs and Bowie next month, I have no idea what to pick this month.
Right now it's between Foals and Frightened Rabbit for me. Unfortuantley for FR's sake, this is the time of the year where I almost exclusively listen to artists that will be at fests I'm going to. If both albums were released in January i'm fairly certain FR would get my vote handily. But they weren't and the Foals album continues to grow on me more and more.

So Druid you are voting for Apparat as well? And Hakuna does that mean you are officially voting for Foals or still deciding? In the future (ie for March), can we make our votes simple guys and just post a picture of the album cover when you're voting, maybe with a sentence explaining that's what you're voting for? That'll make it easier to go through this and tally up the votes.
I'm still on the fence. The album art is a good idea for final answer, you wouldn't want people posting a cover then changing there mind and posting another, might make it even more confusing.
I'm pretty sure this kills any sliver of indie cred I might have had, but I listened to about 10-15 minutes of the Apparat and felt it was going nowhere fast. A Wilcoma sounded more enjoyable.

Still not a single vote for My Bloody Valentine, shockingly

Want my cup of tea either. Going to give it a second and third listen.

How do we have all these votes when all the albums for the month aren't even out yet? Has everyone listened to Johnny Marr? Baptists? Jamie Lidell? Autre Ne Veut? Man - I guess I'm just behind on my listening. I know this is supposed to be for votes only, but f*ck, my opinion counts.
