I'm fired up for the late night shows. That said, I had tix last year for the aftershow and just went home exhausted after Band of Horses. But that was unusual circumstances.

We did the same thing last year. Cold and wet and my wife got sick so we had to miss the late night.

Local Knoxville paper, Blank News, just did an interview with Tim Sweetwood, the guy behind Shaky Knees. (link) It's got some good stuff in there including some idea of the festival layout. The two main stages are going to be next to each other and alternate acts all day with the headliner each night being unopposed.
Really considering going to this, I need to see the Replacements somehow. Probably will be my first festival on my own
If you need a nudge of encouragement, the first festival I went on my own was Shaky Knees last year. Had a blast and met a ton of cool people. Didn't feel "on my own" for very long.

There really couldn't be a much easier place to do a solo festival than Midtown Atlanta. It's not like Bonnaroo where or Electric Forest or something where you're out in the middle of nowhere. And like someone else said, you won't feel very "alone" for very long.
