I only recently was told about WXPN and they are now my go to radio station in my area. I love it. Can't make the festival this year but that is a solid lineup and I am definitely going to keep it in mind in the future!
If you live in the area and are free at all this weekend, you should just come down for a day. Perfect weather for a festival. Today's lineup is solid. Tomorrow's is stellar from beginning to end.

I'll be at Americanarama tonight with my mom, who's a big Dylan fan! We have tickets for the lawn, but because of the weather, we are going to try to upgrade
Had a pretty amazing time this weekend overall. The rain yesterday was just completely insane. Still made it to MMJ and Wilco, but wound up skipping Dylan. So many awesome sets. Edward Sharpe might have been the most fun I had at any set all weekend. Dr. Dog played a bunch of new stuff and it all sounded good. Wilco and Jacket were def highlights as well. I still don't like The Lumineers, but it was fun yelping during the Hey, Ho parts of their songs. Here's some pics....

Another amazing XPNfest. It essentially has VIP built into; the crowd is so laid back that if there's an act you really want to see just show up about 5 minutes early and you're on the rail. It's so cheap too, really a no-brainer festival choice. plus the meet and greats & free drinks for members is a great deal.
Some of my favorite sets: Red Baraat - They absolutely blew my mind. I had such a great time dancing, and I'm so glad they're coming back to Union Transfer in November
John Butler Trio - Had never listened to them before but they put on a fantastic set. Will definitely dive into their catalog
Phosphorescent - song for Zhula is amazing..
Kopecky Family Band - Have seen them before, they always put on a fun show
Dr. Dog - 11th time seeing them, always a ton of fun. The 2 new songs they played other than Truth sounded great
MMJ - First time throwin down in the pit for an MMJ show. Always incredible but I cant wait for the next headlining tour

How'd you get in the pit? Did you buy separate tickets for Americanarama? We snuck under the pavilion with our "member" tickets. I had had it with the rain at that point.

Yeah I bought separate tix for AmericanaramA and Dr. Dog, so I bought a Wiggins park only pass for XPN fest. That rain yesterday was insane
After going a few years ago and then this year experiencing the whole transitioning to SBC, I def think XPN needs to consider upgrading some of their amenities. Mainly the cover. There's only one real big tent on site (artist meet and greet). That's where I was yesterday during a good part of the rain. If they could do a large beer tent or something, I think that'd be smart. Overall I think it's great. Saturday was PACKED. They're starting to go from small local fest to a larger regional festival contender. I hope they can keep up.
I was curious how much rain we actually got yesterday cause it seemed like more than I've ever seen. It was. 8 inches or so!!! That's an ALL TIME record. I blame Jim James.

XPN Peeps be sure not to miss this FREE one at Wiggnis park. I went last year for Galactic and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. it was a great time, really laid back and not very crowded for a free show; plenty of room to dance and cheap beer!
