Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Have some karma fellow volunteer. Last yr was my first roo/vol. I'm flying solo again this yr. Most of us on here have talked of possible swaps for those that are with partners. Or if there is a show you just can't miss. Read back a few pages for details. Since you're coming from Charlotte, be real careful on I-40 and 640 thru Knoxville. Knoxville City Police are have a banner yr for speeders.
So I was thinking about this as I was in the shower today...what are the volunteer showers going to be like? Are they nice? Private? Are they like the ones you paid for last year?
Thanks for the karma and the advice, un4given. I am open to swapping shifts to help out folks with partners or if the show conflicts with your must-see act(s). I have to see Metallica again. They will blow away everyone Friday night.
Passing through Knoxville very early Wednesday morning so maybe the cops will all be at Krispy Kreme.
Was wondering about the showers in the volunteer area as well. Are they close? maybe free?
Showers are decent. Warm water is hit or miss. Lines are long in the morning between 9 and 10. They are free and close. I took 3 a day. More on Knox cops later, work beckons. Good day all.
Anyone else get their work assignments yet? it makes me want to post in the grrrr thread! Do they usually give them out prior to the fest or when you get there? I am planning on taking 3 or so showers a day and love that its free to vols! I'm ready to get there, set up, and chill w a beer!
Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream

I'm thinking that people who got positions that they need to prepare for have gotten their assignments with some other info along with it. People working in info booths probably have to be familiar with, uh, info so maybe they received a packet with some faq's and other things they might have to be prepared to know so that they can help people out. Makes me think that those of us who haven't gotten assignments will be doing jobs that don't require too much forethought.
It's cool. I'm ready for whatever they give me--unless it's every night in the silent disco. . . that might take some circadian rhythm training. . .
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
There is a message board in centeroo that vols go to ck things. Or you can post swaps. Someone had the Silent Disco last yr on Sat night from 11p-3a. No one swapped with them, that would be ruff. I'm used to jobs that require no forethought, I have one.
Cops in Knoxville: The loop around town is 640, it is 55 mph speed trap. If you have to get off in Knoxvillle beware of red lght cameras, 100.00 a pop.
No assigment here. I didn't know last yr till I ck'd in.
Showers are decent. There is a little privacy. They are co-ed. Main thing is they are free. They move along pretty good till you get a couple that want to share one. I never did figure it out, . As best I recall there was one shower trailer w/6 stalls. I have nothing to compare them to as I have never used shower in regular camping. I can tell you they aren't as nice as VIP.

If anyone is still on the boards, I dunno if I will be able to find yall for the meetup. I will be wearing an orange shirt that says IPTAY on the front and SOLID ORANGE on the back, so if yall see me stop me!

To all who volunteered this year. I want to apoligize for telling you all how great it is and about the perks. This yr is was very unorganized. Last yr we could cut thru VIP and head directly to Centeroo. If I am wearing my "volunteer shirt" it means I am heading to my shift. The security/saftey Nazis were anal the whole weekend. "Go around, just like everyone else". There was no swapping this yr. I feel like I was made out to be a liar. This was my last yr of volunteering. If I can't buy a ticket I'll live my life vicarously thru you all. The only other vols I met from here were dutins and dystopian dream. I had hoped to meet more.

I met dystopian dream and dutins as well, I think we were so disorganized because of the whole change of meeting thing.
I had no problems with volunteering. We had shifts at the Nashville airport 8am-2pm Thursday and 10am-2pm Friday. I realize we got lucky though...I was very thankful.
And it was very unorganized...especially check in, and the meeting getting moved and everything...but I tried to roll with it. Overall I thought it was a very good experience. If I thought I would get a good shift again next year, I would definitely do it again!

I couldnt find yall for the meetup! I looked but didnt see anything that matched the description. I was able to go through the back entrance of the main stage most times, just by getting someone to distract the ladies blocking entrance. Or we went around the back to the which stage entrance, so it wasnt too bad. Did anyone else have to wait till around 6:30 wednesday night to park? Apparently they let other people take our spots.. so we had to wait for em all to move. If yall did, I was in a group drinking behind the vol tent next to the playground, maybe i met ya.

It took us forever to get parked, actually. They turned us away from the staff lot 3 times saying "We're sorry, it's backed up and we can't let you in." I was thinking..."WTF they better have a place for us to camp!!" So finally on the last try the guy says to us, "Well we can't let you in unless you already have a campsite." My boyfriend looks at him and says, "Fine. We have a campsite," even though we had a car obviously loaded down with stuff! So they let us through and finally we got parked and camped at about 5! It was a huuuuge hassle! We weren't exactly in "Staff Lot B" though, we were in the spillover by the fence...which was nice because it was much roomier, plus we had some way cool neighbors that we hung out with all weekend!
I still haven't gotten my $$ back hoping that comes soon!

::Whew:: Got my deposit back today--was a little worried there for a second--with how unorganized everything was, thought I might be SOL. . . but I got it, turned around and got my MMJ tickets
