hey all. volunteering for my first time, well, 'roo n for my first time too. i'll be coming up from jackson/starkville MS and leaving abt. 5am so I can get there still in case my car F's up. Its a 95 Celica and it doesnt like the interstate or high speeds very much. Anyway, I'll be there by myself. can't wait to meet as many of you guys as possible! soo stoked! I would love to meet n greet. see you guys in almost a week!!!

You won't be by yourself for long. Just be careful on the interstate. Welcome aboard.

Sounds good to me. If anything changes after 5:00am Tuesday morning, someone hunt me down at the vol camping area on Wed. I'm leaving work from Tues afternoon to spend night on the way and I'll be inforoo-less. I plan to be at ck-in between 8 and 9, barring any unforeseen circumstances. I'll just be looking for a smokin-hot new bride in a VW with cold sweet tea. Keep me updated y'all. David

hi! my name's brian. i've been lurking here for a little bit to get info on this volunteer thing...
and YES i just got another email with lots more info. but i'm still on the fence as to whether i'm going or not. i have friends going but i have to get down there if i'm volunteering... i'm from chicago so i need a ride down to tennessee.
i just did the volunteer/recycling thing at summercamp (my first ever camping fest) and should be getting my ticket money back soon, and i'd love to try to do it again for roo if i have the energy and this looks worth doing (i was probably one of the last to sign up and pay my deposit...). anyone got any more advice or (more importantly!) a ride from chicago, please get back to me!

I have a friend coming down from Lombard to meet me in Champaign on Tuesday morning, and then we are leaving from here (in my vehicle) for M'boro, TN, where we'll spend the night at a hotel before taking off early in the am for check in.
Since my friend recently broke his ankle, he was looking into taking the train to Champaign, but-- if you have access to a car and can drive him and yourself down here, that might work out better.
If any of this works for you, send me a pm and we'll figure something out.

Well, so far so good as far as poking myself in the eye anymore. I've found other ways to distract myself. . . My eye still looks funny, tho.
Here's an older map (sorry the pics huge), but staff camping is presumably in the same place-- look at the right bottom corner-- the grey area is where staff camping has been in the past.

Hi folks, made it thru JB. Not as fun as usually is, I had to fly solo. Hope you all are having a great weekend. Picked up some brew in Hotlanta. Got some Warstiener and Hienie Light. Would have loved to got some Sweet Blue, but I only saw bottles. I'm driving down in a p-up, if there is anything you all need holler at me. Keep in touch.

I'm leaving Tues. night to go to murfreesboro and drop my kids with their dad for the summer, then headed in Weds. morning. I'm having the great debate with myself, to pack the cooler Tues. afternoon and keep ice on it an extra day or wait until weds. morning and brave the walmart. Thoughts?
So...I haven't gotten a volunteer assignment yet. I am freaking READY. My boyfriend usually gets the emails before me though so hopefully we'll know something soon! I am ready to go. We're not leaving until early Wednesday morning. I have a loooong list of stuff to do...I can't wait!!!

Thought about the same situation. I'm leaving Tues night to spend night in McMinnville (30 mins out). I may just use enough ice to keep it cool and then hit Wally World first thing Wed morn before ck-in and pile it on. I don't want to spend half my budget on ice during roo. It was 2.50-3.00 a bag in camp last yr. I'm hoping what I bring can last till Sat night at least. I hate warm beer.
No assignment e-mail for me either. Is it common to get the assignment before the festival?
Lord, I hope the heat lets up some by Wednesday. It's been brutal here in Charlotte. 100 degrees yesterday and today.
Can't wait to get the drive behind me and set up the campsite. It'll be great to explore the grounds before the gates open on Thursday. This will be my first time at Bonnaroo and I'm flying solo as well. Looking forward to working with everyone and having a great experience!
