I got nothing for pavement sticks to feet. Pavement is sticky when it is hot, hot is at the front of the hotel, maybe Kida is right about the band name having the word "hot" in it.

machine gun kelly. ddp sets up the acronym usage of mgk. he has a song called chasing pavements and an album "lace up" the oliver hotel was originally built as a bakery too. richard colson baker is mgk's real name. kelly blue book was a given. also machine gun kelly was a gangster in the late 1800's whos name started with george. explains the monkey in the video. and i cant find evidence but im pretty sure ive seen mgk wearing that panda hat before.

"Mixed from a blue book" could be a reference to Anne Frank's diary. It was said to have heavily influenced Mangum when writing ITAOTS, NMH's most famous work, and it could be described as a "blue", or depressing/sad, book.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think I've ever encountered pavement sticking to my feet when it's hot out. It just gets sort of squashy in my experience. The whole "cement overshoes" thing could work, but I just had another thought - the most common explanation for the pavement sticking to your feet is that somebody spat their gum out on the sidewalk. Are there any likely bands/artists with "gum" in their name or anything like that?
Pavement is tar. Tar stuck to a foot is a Tarheel. It's UNC's logo. A tarheel is a person from North Carolina. Obvious is the Chocolate Drops, but I don't see how the rest fits. But I'm certain with the earlier suggestion of a Tarheel.
