And you can order as many plaques as you want for an additional $75. If you would like a personalized plaque with Beyonce you could definitely have one.

Steph ... just catching up and there you are writing what I was thinking. Was thinking of Yoderoo and another that had a heart attack last year I believe. I'm jiggy with the group decision. Quacker will be adding to the WS tree which will probably bring that down the home stretch.

There was a member who had a heart attack in 2012, I believe. I think his name was Rick, and he was not a regular poster. Someone came to inforoo and told us about it a few weeks after the fest.
bonzai, Doug actually passed away from cystic fibrosis.
I think a general memorial tree for all departed Inforoosters is a great idea; hopefully we can get it planted in an easily located spot. This is something of a macabre thought, but I think we ought to leave some space on the plaque for any names that may need to be added at a later date. I should be able to pitch in a little something depending on when the payment is due, but I need to make sure my finances are in order first.

You're right-Rick, who always referred to us as 'Roo-mates,' had a heart attack Friday morning in 2012 while we were having coffee and getting ready to bring a big canopy to brunch for itrainmonkeys. Thank you for thinking of and remembering him! I gave money for the original tree in his honor, and am totally up for giving more if we can dedicate a tree to all the good souls we've lost along the way at Roo.

I was thinking a twist on what sleepy said.. 'in memory of' yet more upbeat if possible? Like an Irish funeral where we all get good and drunk and tell fun stories before we have to sober up long enough to get through the pain of the funeral.. (Well that's what my Irish family does). But in reverse.. remembering with love and happiness ? I dunno.. rambling.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the leftover $350 from this fundraiser has gone to qsaroo/krissyjo to go towards both Mike and Angie's tree's on the farm.
I'm loving all the photos of the trees popping up on my Facebook feed. It's a perfect spot for it, and should grow into a beautiful tree over the years ahead.
The 5th-grader in me can't help but snicker a little bit though, since 'root' has a different meaning down here. I'll give you a hint... quack quack, motherducker!
