Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
the internet is the worst there are so many people complaining about billy playing with phish as if they won’t have a ton of opportunities to see phish without him.
some phish fans are so fucking weird about shit. tribalism, gatekeeping, and dick measuring are the worst aspects of jam band fandom.
it's so hilarious to me seeing dudes tweet like "they should announce sit ins before. i paid to see phish, not billy". dude, you follow a band who makes up setlists on the fly, everything is a grab bag. the surprises are the best part.

Phish fans really are some of the lamest lol. At least the band is awesome !
If anyone is heading to Bethel today, or knows people that are, stay safe & dry as possible. Just gotta get through tonight and the sun should greet you in the morning.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I did not attend, but my buddy and his girlfriend (who is neither a Phish fan nor a festival fan) did. Below is the interview I conducted with him upon the festival's conclusion...
Me: Well, how was it?
Buddy: It was pretty cool. Would have been better with more people to make the day go by faster. The stuff in the festival that was accessible was cool once. Everything else was a loooooooong line. No chance at a poster. Would have to wait out in the heat for hours. Relaxing in a hotel now about to take an amazing shower.
M: Was there anything special about the sets that differentiated them from a typical Phish show?
B: No. I was a little disappointed but great music as always. Secret set was pretty cool.
M: How long was that jam?
B: Over an hour but I don't remember how long. A bunch of nature imagery. I was expecting something. Bust outs, a guest, anything. But nothing came.
Upcoming Shows: 11/8 - Goose @ The Andrew J. Brady Center 11/13 - Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros w/ The Wolfpack & The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall 2/14 - Alan Walker @ The Fillmore Detroit 4/15 - Ben Folds w/ The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall

looking at the posts on r/phish it appears most people had a great time. some people saying the music was incredible, others saying individual shows earlier in the summer were better.
from the pictures the art installations and stuff looked amazing. loved the secret porto that opened into a whole art installation. secret set looked outstanding.
but there are lots of complaints too. some people parked in certain areas had long walks to get water, which sucks. stories of staff stealing legal weed, asking for tips, generally being rude, etc. food prices and beer prices were very high, and some actually increased their prices after day one. this is disappointing, the whole deal with phish festivals is that you typically don't have this type of bullshit.
i don't remember reading stuff like this after other 3.0 festivals, but maybe i'm just not remembering correctly. i feel like after bonnaroo there is usually a rush of complaints about staff etc. that eventually peter out.
regardless i would rather have been there than not!

i’m listening to the newest episode of time crisis (ezra from vampire weekend’s radio show/podcast) and it’s awesome because he takes a side bar to explain to his two non-phish fan cohosts that he’s seen divided sky at most of the 4 phish shows he’s seen and the probability of that happening to someone is very low

I know this isn’t how it works, but
KGLW marathon shows at Forest Hills were 100% the right decision on paper. I think the “surprise” set was SUPERB. Otherwise, there’s little to come back to from the fest. I’ll still take STL N1 over any single night of the fest.
NYE question, hotel or airbnb? Also do you stay walking distance ? They’ve been so hot, listened to all of fest and dicks and lawd I gotta see them this year.

One man’s (terrible most likely) take
been listening to the Forest Hills show and before the SBDs came out was seeing snippets of videos and stuff, I can't even disagree with this take. having said that as you know there is something about a Phish festival in particular that is special aside from the music. all the other activities and just being fully immersed in the Phish world for 4 days is something you can only get every few years (or more) at a Phish fest.
but purely musically I think what was happening at those King Gizz shows was more exciting. but i'll say whats wild is we are comparing a band thats been together for 40 years and a band that has been together for around a dozen years (?) and seriously considering which live shows were better. so hats off to phish on their continued longevity and relevance.

hotel, i want to say there are some weird rules around airbnbs in NYC? anyway it seems like everybody stays in a hotel.
i've always stayed within 10-15 minute walking distance, but having said that even then sometimes i hop the subway before or after the show to just zip a few stops to or from MSG if i'm feeling lazy. it's really no problem, so it's certainly not required to stay within walking distance.

Sweet, thank you ! Going to start looking into some hotels / flights now.

I gave it a little more thought, and I still feel same - especially after how strong Dick's was, my lord those shows ruled.
I totally agree re: the magic of the fest, it's the ultimate "you had to be there". I'm sure if I was boots on ground I would feel stronger about the music.
To the bold, I am eternally grateful that in year 41 Phish was still finding ways to be creative and push the envelope and deliver easily my favorite summer tour since the Baker's Dozen. I think the highs were REALLY high (the secret set I think is just absolutely magnificent. cannot get enough). In addition, the floor this year was MUCH higher than normal for 3.0.
