I’m doing my first show since Coventry this year. I’ve barely even listened to the band since then. What are the essential tracks from the last 14 years?

My list, not from the biggest phan so take with a grain of salt.
In no order
1. Backwards Down the Number Line 2. Joy 3. Ocelot 4. Fuego 5. The Line 6. 555 7. Wingsuit 8. Breath & Burning 9. Home
And if you didn't listen to Undermind, I love "The Connection"

Not all new songs:
1. Fuck Your Face - they've started playing this again, still infrequently but it always slays. 2. Party Time - fishman track, silly but it's a fantastic show opener. 3. No Men in No Man's Land - new track, has become a reliable jam vehicle 4. What's The Use? - once a rarity, now it's a regular song to drop out of a jam. 5. Golden Age - TV On The Radio cover, they do a great job with it. Jam vehicle. 6. Blaze On - new song, silly lyrics that always get a crowd reaction. Funky jam vehicle. 7. Martian Monster - track from their "Chilling Thrilling Sounds of Walt Disney" halloween show. Other songs from that show in the regular rotation include "The Dogs" and "Your Pet Cat", and "The Very Long Fuse", but "Martian Monster" is the best. You'll know it when the vocal sample drops. It's basically a funky greasy Little Feat instrumental. 8. Steam - new track, good song, jam vehicle
Would anyone in here be willing to pick up a hat for me at the merch stand at an upcoming show? I saw one I loved at the Alpharetta show but I was already wearing a hat and didn't want to carry it around all night. Now I don't see it on the dry goods site.
It was a grey dad hat with like a shield patch logo on the front. Beer on me for your troubles. Thanks!

10goldbees a pleasure meeting you last weekend. thanks for reaching out!
sounds cheesy but the Alpharetta shows were rejuvenating. it was a stark reminder of what is important in life. i'm a happy person but i think i've been distracted from the moment for a bit. these shows reminded me to always remember where my feet are at, if that makes sense.

Oh my God dude I totally thought I posted a follow up to you earlier in the thread. Great meeting you too! Glad the shows were so rewarding for you. Friday was a top Phish experience for me as well and a great reminder why I love them.
And it's good to meet the people who curate all the playlists I listen to these days haha.

Interesting you say that. I just got back from the gym with a coworker and was telling him that although it was a rager, it feels like I'm back from a relaxing vacation. It's been a great week.

exactly. usually i get home from a run and my head hurts, my back hurts, and i'm exhausted. but the drive home Monday and everyday since has been chill for some reason.

Here’s the Raleigh show about to come on. Gonna couch the fuck out of it tonight with Phish and then PL from Red Rocks.
I moderately enjoy Phish, and had a lot of fun at the first Camden show, but MAN are the just a goofy band. I can't explain it properly but they're just goofy. Like I just clicked on the video above and they're singing multiple lines about a meat stick. Fucking goofy, man.

They clown and they did a lot tonight in Raleigh. Between dancing and talking on stage and all, they looked like they were having fun. They finished with a pretty fire A Day in the Life though.

My friend's coworkers got him a Phish cake for his birthday this year. A younger coworker asked what Phish sounds like and his boss said, "Sesame Street but longer."

I know it's super last minute and a long shot, but if anyone is passing through lower Delaware on their way to Curveball and has room for a +1, hit me up! Just saw both shows at MPP but without a proper driver's license, getting to Watkins Glen is near impossible for me

Curveball may be canceled but Bunny Radio is still going. I had a lot of free time at work today so I'm putting together the whole weekend's playlist on Spotify.
I've got Thursday's list fully entered here. Will keep updating throughout the weekend

It's crazy but The Bunny is one of my favorite parts of a Phish festival. I always get teary-eyed when I'm leaving and lose the signal.
After Magnaball the last song they played was "Raining Blood" before cutting off the broadcast. So fucking awesome.

The Bunny is aaaaaawesome. I haven't tracked down a pirate radio feed yet but I love keeping it on all weekend of Phish fests.

caught a screening of this last night. it's an intimate documentary that follows Trey around during the period when he was recording Ghosts Of The Forest, which I believe was around Spring/Summer 2017, because he was also planning the Bakers Dozen and the NYE Soul Planet/ship gag during this time.
any phish fan should obviously see this, it was a treat on so many levels:
1. personal reflective discussions with Trey and all his family, including his mom, dad, wife, and two daughters 2. lots of video taken inside "the barn", Phish's isolated recording studio in Vermont. 3. video of all the other band member's homes and recording studios 4. video of their NYC rehearsal space 5. videos of Trey's apartment in NYC
Lots and lots of discussion with Trey while he is driving between NYC and Vermont. They get into Phish's history, Trey's songwriting process, and how his career affected his closest relationships. Lots of discussion of his friend who inspired Ghosts of the Forest, who died of cancer during the filming of the documentary. Trey's arrest and ensuing sobriety is touched on frequently although they never get into the nitty gritty of it, nor did they need to.
For the most part it is a very calming, scenic, and emotional doc. I won't spoil anything but there were lots of cool moments, and i probably laughed out loud four dozen times. Seeing Trey take a new song and bounce around between the other band members' homes to record with them and get their opinions was really cool. Trey's enthusiasm for the music and the song-writing is palpable, it clarifies how much he has matured as a leader since Bittersweet Motel. So much less ego than Bitterwsweet, wherein Trey was ultra-confident in every move he made. Now we see a Trey that admits most of his life is spent in "confusion and fear", but it seems that in accepting the reality of what goes on in his head he's found a deep appreciation for life and the joy he finds in it.
While the doc focuses on Trey there is lots of content with Fish, Page, and Mike as well. It's also a trip seeing them and how calm and happy they all are.
If I have any critique it's that it felt a bit slow at times, but I think that was consistent with the subject matter. There are some live performance clips, but for the most part it's about the times spent inbetween the stages.
It's a strange thing seeing a band 35+ years into their career still creating with such vibrancy and enthusiasm. Mandatory viewing for Phish fans, but still highly recommended for anyone interested in the creative process.
