Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So when did The Gaslight Anthem disappear from Bonnaroo's page? I wasn't going to see them, but I was curious.
P.S. Looking at Roo's facebook kind of paid off for once.
Instead of lineup additions, this year they're doing lineup subtractions because they realize they've booked conflict city. WILL YOUR FAVORITE BAND ON THE LINEUP ACTUALLY BE PLAYING??? STAY TUNED AT BONNAROO.COM TO FIND OUT! It's kind of like the Bonnaroo Lineup Hunger Games.
oh my mistake. agree about blur. stone roses is iffy. i know they haven't been here in a long time, but i just don't get it with them. i don't say this to be inflammatory, but their songs sound like mothing to me. like they were recorded for no reason. again, personal opinion, i know people irl who love them and that's cool.
You should give them another go. Ian Brown isn't the best singer, but his lyrics are absolutely gorgeous. It's a hard sell if you don't dig that kind of British music, but they're in the direct lineage of bands like The Byrds, Love, and Buffalo Springfield (all, ironically, not from Britain) and they really helped usher in a more rock-slanted view to dance music along with Primal Scream's Screamdelica. Not to mention, they have one of the best rhythm sections of all time (Reni and Mani) and John Squire can really shred. Funnily enough, they're probably the closest Coachella or Bonnaroo have to a jam band headliner. They stretch some of their tunes (specifically, Fools Gold and I Am The Resurrection) into twenty minute jams. I wouldn't call them a jam band, but they can certainly jam.
i think i dug fool's gold ok. like i said, good friends of mine are big fans, i've been esposed to them enough. I just don't get it. i'm sure my friends will keeep trying in the run up to chella.
After listening to my mega playlist (i still haven't heard every band on shuffle) some of my newer bands that i am extremely excited about are Lord Huron, Twenty One Pilots, Macklemore (sorry people i don't think he is comparable to Mac Miller at all), Django Django (you people were so right about them, you people are always right), and Wild Nothing. God i wish it was June!!!! I need one of those remotes from that Adam Sandler so i can fast forward to June.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Did they make an announcement on Facebook about them being removed?
They did not, but they have been announced as an act at Pinkpop. With them already being on the Download line-up, they probably just decided to stay in Europe rather than make the flight over.
"Maroon 5 was also on the bill, but did not appear at their performance time, citing a sore throat by lead vocalist Adam Levine"
It was just not a good booking either way.
Wrong.
That was back in the hetty halcyon days of Bonnaroo, where every booking raged faces. You may think that Maroon 5 is generic pop radio garbage, but back in 2004 they were ultra hetty and everyone was stoked to see that show and smoke copious bowls of nugs.
I'm glad somebody rememberes maroon 5 used to actually be pretty awesome.. i saw them live when that album came out...awesome rock show..very alt rock. Im pretty sure i'd hate them now tho

I remember being disappointed at the very last minute cancellation. In retrospect I look at it much like that time I lost my wallet and couldn't go to see Ishtar.

I imagine that we will be able to tell within a fair degree of certainty what band(s) among the additions fit(s) in the same tier as The Gaslight Anthem.

But you don't know if that band is somebody who they were going to add anyway or an additional band that they signed because Gaslight Anthem decided to ditch. Also, I would argue that to be a real replacement, the band would have to be in the same kind of ballpark musically. Last year, Kvelertak cancelled to work on their album, and they never added a similar act to the line-up with any of the sets of additions.
