If I were to rate them in tiers based on technique and skill, McLaughlin and Gibbons would be in my 1st tier. After that Warren, Nels, and Campbell in tier 2. However, my absolute favorite guitarist to watch is Jim James, nobody earquacks me quite like him.

My vote is for Brian Sutton. He's the uncontested greatest bluegrass guitar player of his generation, and no one else is close. He'll be with Noam Pikelny & Friends. He'll also be the go-to flatpicking wizard during the Ed Helms Super Jam. Sutton plays the fastest, cleanest, most-creative bluegrass guitar solos you'll ever hear.
