We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Can someone explain this to me. Earlier in the night they made a point of telling us the Academy orchestra was performing from the Capitol records building but Adele had an orchestra. Her own do you think? Or were they bow syncing?

She had to have her own, right? I would think that it would be more work than it would be worth to try and coordinate that just for the visual.

Nah, it was always going to win a few crafts. Argo won editing, which is the only award it could reasonably have been expected to win at this point. If it takes screenplay, it's a done deal.

Ang Lee has a good shot, though.
I don't know. Argo winning editing doesn't necessarily mean as much given it's a movie totally dependent on its tight editing.
Life of Pi was basically supposed to win FX. It wasn't the favorite in score or cinematography.

I'd say it was the favorite in both those categories. Life of Pi has been picking up nominations and awards in both categories all year. What did you think would win?

Deakins and Kaminski were actually considered the favorite for cinematography. Score is always harder to predict, but I figured they would finally give one to Desplat for Argo as sort of a reward of all the great scores he wrote this year.

"Actually considered" based on what, though? I just looked back through a bunch of predictions to make sure I wasn't crazy, and nearly everyone was predicting Miranda and Danna. Deakins won ASC, but he's won that twice before without taking the Oscar. Dude is the new Randy Newman, it's starting to feel like they'll never give it to him.
I'm not trying to be a d*ck, just wondering what you're basing those predictions on. The pundit types all seemed to think those were wrapped up.
