I binge watched the 1st season and waited nearly a year for the 2nd. Now, I only have episodes 11-13 to go in Season 2. I feel like I'm getting too close to the end and should slow down, but I can't stop myself
When he shoved Zoe my mouth literally hung open for awhile...then it was omg, omg, omg. This season is so freaking good. The back stories with Lucas and the hacker, Freddy, Rachel.
At the end of episode 10, the hacker called Rachel/was tracking Doug. I think he's trying to get proof of Lucas' story and is going to go down in flames himself to save Lucas from a long prison sentence.
Frank and Claire are really angling for the White House, introducing the thought of an affair, all the turmoil/controversy Frank has engineered. I won't be shocked if the President is impeached or resigns soon.

The legal aspects of The Wire, which largely drive the plot, are highly regarded as being some of the most realistic writing ever in a drama.
Meanwhile, the legal/political aspects of House of Cards, are total bullshit. That's not to say it's not an entertaining show or anything, but let's get real.

Chime in saying the show is entertaining, well acted, and fun, but it sure as hell ain't The Wire.
Some of the writing and story twists are completely preposterous.
Breaking Bad is the best show since The Wire. True Detective is the best show currently on TV, but its important to see where it goes before we start throwing around "best since the wire". This is the fucking wire we are talking about.
anyway this doesn't pic doesn't apply right now but it could get some serious use around here:
just started today. love the gaffney peach reference in E3. My dad's side of the family is from there and i have been giggling at that thing since i was old enough too see out the car window.

I had no idea that that was a real thing. That makes it even funnier to me!
I could name probably 10 dramas that are better that are currently on the air, even. And none of them would have anyone as scene-chewingly off-putting as Kevin Spacey is in HoC
Am I the only one who thinks this show isn't that good? The writing is often just... blech. It's all so haughty and strained.
I find it thoroughly entertaining, the performances are generally excellent, but yes, the writing is absurd. Kind of like early True Blood but less campy and less aware of its ridiculousness. So not a great show IMO, but an addictive and fun show.
I thought it was one of the best shows ever, but now that we've been watching Orange is the New Black, in my mind it's no longer the best show on Netflix. Still, though, I'm voting for Francis Underwood!
Is this the most incorrectly titled thread on Inforoo?
It was easy to watch those episodes but the quality was lacking. I agree with Cokes, there are at least 10 better dramas currently on TV.
Mad Men Masters of Sex The Americans The Bridge Game of Thrones The Good Wife The Leftovers Fargo True Detective Sherlock Orange is the New Black Orphan Black Top of the Lake Rectify Hannibal Louie/Girls- is either show a comedy anymore? Justified- didn't watch the last season though
I don't watch Walking Dead, Downton Abbey, or Broadchurch but I trust the people who tell me they are good shows.
I consider it even with Homeland and Sons of Anarchy and that is not a compliment for any of those shows. It reminds me of when I go to one of my friends house and he watches shows like Suits and Castle. Sure the hour moves by quickly, but I'm guaranteed to roll my eyes at least 5 times an episode.
I quit watching walking dead because it just got a bit stagnant and then boring. i would roll my eyes a lot. it turned into a MST3K type of show for the wife and I. and then even that got boring.
Louie is not a comedy. I laugh sometimes, often even, but I finish every episode a little bit sadder than I started.
