Yes. I've said this here before, but if you were to dig a big hemispherical hole in the earth, line it with aluminum foil, spray the aluminum foil with, like, three inches of that Great Stuff orange insulating foam sealant, wait on the foam to cure, then flip the whole thing over 180 degrees, you'd have a silver insulated dirt-floor igloo that would most definitely be the coolest shadiest thing going at the whole festival.
We found just doing an ez-up was a little lacking, especially if you're doing tent only and you don't have a car to retreat to for some A/C. So we have an ez-up as an under girder/support, then we zip tied two cheap tarps (don't get the blue ones, get the gray/brown ones) and dragged them over the top of the ez-up. We bought some thin pvc at Home Depot to use as quasi-tent poles and staked those to keep the tarp stretched out. Doing this increases the amount of shade and the tarps hang lower, enabling you to stay in the shade as the sun's position changes. But unlike a tent, you still get a good amount of air circulation. If your tent isn't too tall, it should fit under some part of this which will help during early morning sleeping. It can get hot early in Tenn.

Cheers!
Thanks. This is what i was looking for. We had an ez-up last year but it wasn't enough shade for all of us.
If the unnecessary sarcastic posts are indicative of the people who have been shouting out for the VIP camping group - I'm so in. lol. These are my kind of people.

It's going to be my first time at bonnaroo and just curious if there is enough room for a 2 person tent AND a 10x10 ez up shade thingie when you are camping with your car? I've seen images online and it doesnt look like you have a ton of room. thanks!
It can vary. I actually put my EZ Up over my tent to buy me an extra couple of hours of sleep in the morning.
dekayvalentine From my experience last year, we had plenty of room. We fit a 1 person, 3 person, and like 2 7 person tents plus an EZ-UP. I'm not sure if we got lucky but thats just my experience. I'm still pretty much a noob as well.

I know of this erotic romance novel you should read.
You got way lucky. Had a car next to us not moved, we would have only had room for a 3 person tent with an EZ-up directly over the top of it. Because the car next to us moved however, we were able to have a second EZ-up for a shaded lounge area. It varies, but I wouldn't plan on having a ton room. Making a plan with your neighbors or coming in with a group of cars is the only way to make a ton of room. You would probably have room to place the tent about half way under the ez-up and use the other half to lounge in.

Do you just assume I'll read an erotic romance novel because my display name is Roogasm?

Ya you got really lucky, even with two cars. Ive gone with 2 cars and didnt even have room to set my tent up. But ya, riding in a caravan is the best move. Last time I went. My friends and I got separated In traffic. We're determined to keep that from happening this year, no matter what.
