I think that bjork show is more rare for me. The only time she has played even been remotely close me was ATL in 1997. I think Jim James will be apart of the superjam more than once and I will have another shot at seeing that.
How the hell is Björk not losing this by a distance??
Both are amazing performers, but a Jim James Superjam with John Oates is something you'll probably never see again.
Like CPK said, Bjork doesn't come around much, so whereas the superjam will not happen again in the same way, this may be a lot of people's only shot at seeing Bjork.

Yeah, for me it's an obvious choice as Björk plays here quite often.
I voted JJ. Not because I don't wanna see Bjork but because I won't have an opportunity to that Superjam again. I'm also lucky to know I have another Bjork shot in July.
This may be my hardest conflict ever. There really isn't a right or wrong answer.
I'd pick Jim if this conflict were to happen, but I think a complete conflict is unlikely. At worst, we are probably looking at a partial conflict and the ability to check out both. I'm not an "on the rail" guy, so I'd be ok with that.

It is because it is John Oates, and not Daryl Hall. I would prefer seeing him and JJ with Hall's backing band. Have the Preservation Hall horn section and that would have been a lot of mind melting awesomeness!

If you're splitting time between the two, I think you have to start at the JJ superjam since it will most likely be in a tent, then head over to Bjork. She'll be on a stage so showing up halfway through her set shouldn't leave you with a terrible view

That is if the overlap permits it. That would be my ideal situation.

It's not even a contest for me. If there was not a single other act on the line-up I wanted to see, I would still pay for the ticket and go just for her show. She is the main reason I am coming this year. Well, Macca is part of it too.
The Superjam is not something I will ever see again but the chances of me seeing Bjork again is probably close to zero as well unless I pay to travel to a big metro area sometime just for her show. Being that she is one of my Top 10 all-time favorite music acts, its not even a consideration.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Just like shmohawk said... we may only have to deal with a partial overlap. I think Bjork will start her set earlier then the other late nights which will allow me to see part of her show and then leave for the super jam if need be.
Bjork, only because I haven't started listening to Jim James' stuff yet. I'm kinda scared to, because I've grown to love Bjork over the past month or so, and if I come to love JJ similarly...I think it'd be easier to live in ignorance lol

I broke the current tie with a Bjork vote. I just don't think I'll have another chance to see her. But I agree that it's silly worrying about hypothetical conflicts.
Also, I've never been a fan of the 1/2 and 1/2 approach. Too much time wasted in transit. Pick one and, if it's working for you, stick with it.
Bjork for sure to start with if for no other reason than that she's less conventional than a couple guys just playing guitar together. I actually had to look up Jim James and I realized "Oh yeah, it's that guy from MMJ!". Not that it wouldn't be good or possibly better, but I think I'd rather see the Superjam on a video and not miss a possibly unique Bjork show (unique for me at least).

Jim James has the voice of an angel so livin' in ignorance of him is unfortunate. But from your point of view I can kinda understand. His solo album is pretty great, but if you don't get down with his band My Morning Jacket you're really missin' out.
I will say that I am surprised that this is tied. I thought the SJ would be winning by a good bit since Jim James is so beloved on this board.
I just broke the tie. I think a lot of people realize that this is likely their only chance to ever see Bjork. If you miss the superjam, you have another chance to see Jim James that weekend even though it's not the one-time deal the superjam is.

Bjork hands down. A pre-headlining spot would sure as hell piss me off. Not only is it a slap in the face to her 20 year + career and her stage setup, but I am entirely sure everyone waiting for mumford would be complaining the entire time and asking "who's bjork brah?"
