I'm kind of sick of them at this point, but I still love them and am excited to see them. Keep in mind, I am that stereotypical folk loving girl who is also happy to see Mumford on the lineup (I am a-ok with all that though because their music makes me happy. So haters go ahead and hate- I'll continue to live happily ever after ).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
While Lumineers>>Mumford makes sense musically, someone pointed out in another thread a week or two ago that from a business perspective, AC wants people to be walking by the vendors and stuff as often as possible. I can definitely see them putting the Lumineers on the Which at the expense of it being packed, when it means that that giant crowd is probably going to be walking by the beer stands on the way to see Mumford.
If Bonnaroo puts them anywhere but the What stage...it won't be a surprise at all, because the brain trust over at the Superfly offices don't have the first clue about scheduling and crowd control.
Did you see the Relix article with El Cappitan where he said the Mumford on the Which in 11 was their call, not Bonnaroo? Thought that was interesting.
They played a free show here in December and more than twice the capacity (easily) showed up. They tried to play some songs in the parking lot for everybody who couldn't get in but the sheriff's dept shut them down. Luckily, I got to see them open for Josh Ritter and Brandi Carlisle last summer so I wasn't too bummed. They're really good live and they flesh out the album quite a bit.
My guess is they will be on which stage. With the crowd they are going to have they should be on what stage, but the only band/artist I can think of last year that played on what and didn't have at least two albums out was Gary Clark Jr.
I will for sure be at there set. Great first album.

I enjoyed their album, but when I saw them at Hangout for a bit, thought it was cool, but in Atlanta I was disappointed. They were pretty boring...I am interested to see how they do with a larger setting

I'm hoping the 'powers that are' over at Superfly are using the 'artist like' feature for the lineup that tells you how many people added that artist to their list of must-sees, there are enough votes to use that information as a general idea of where 80,000 people will spend their time. Alas, as stated already, that would make far too much sense.

I saw them at a terrible fest here last summer. It was Lumineers > Fitz and the Tantrums > Avetts, and the Lumineers were just ok. I think it's because they knew most people weren't there for them. No one seemed to know any of their songs besides Ho Hey. I'll absolutely give them another shot though.

To be fair, I don't think I knew any song besides Ho Hey last summer, either. They opened a stage at Hangout last May and now they are headlining smaller festivals and are 11th on Bonnaroo's lineup. That's a HUGE jump. The people at their sets this year, including myself, will now know a lot more of the music and will (hopefully) be getting more into their set in general.

You guys want to hear a funny story about the Lumineers. Last year when one of the fake line up posters came out just before the announcement I started looking up bands on it and fell in love with the Lumineers immediately. It's crazy how their weakest song on the album imo was the one to get so popular and it's crazy how fast they blew up. Just a year ago they were doing little bars selling $10 tickets.
So yeah I have a fake Roo lineup poster to thank for finding them. And I'm glad I did before they blew up because I might not have been so keen to get into their stuff based on Ho Hey.
