Alright, so lets talk about how much one person should bring to bonnaroo to comfortably enjoy the weekend.
Personally, I'll probably only eat at camp once a day. I definitely want to ride the Ferris wheel. I know we'll need more ice, and who wouldn't want to pick up some merch?
I was thinking around $300...
Also, I apologize if there's a thread just like this in the abyss of inforoo.
I saw in another thread a Roo vet said they brought about $200 and comfortably ate at the vendors and such all weekend so $300 should do it. Thats about what I was thinking to bring.
That's an older thread, but it gives you a pretty good range of opinions on it. $300/person should allow you to live pretty comfortable for the weekend depending on how merch crazy you go.
One thing I have forgotten over the years, is when say, allowing $300, is to do that just for roo. A pre-roo Wal-Mart stop can easily cut that in half and then your stuck watching your wallet all weekend.

I liked the budget of $100 a day while I'm down there. Roo's really my only big vacation of the year though so I tend to splurge a little more. And yeah $300 would cover it but I think you should budget that just for being down there. Gas and a walmart run are always counted separate when I'm figuring out my $$ situation
Three hundred is what $75 a day? That should do you if you bring plenty of food and alcohol and only spend about 20 a day on vendors. I am crossing 6 state lines so I am not bringing _______ you know so I need to budget for that when I get there. I will be doing about the same $300

I forgot last year, do we have a resident artist? I have a couple of Emek posters from waka and such and I guess he is my favorite from what little I know about posters ... cr**** Yes corn budget=Enough to feed a small calf

I'm probably looking @ a grand for the entire weekend, total budget of 2k, accounting for tickets, camping supplies, shakedown merchandise, and then food. My new thing to buy is a glass tobacco pipe at every festival I go to that sales them. I may buy one shirt all weekend. Not sure with the tn laws if pipes are allowed for sale on the farm, but we will see.

I'm figuring between $250-$300 for the weekend. The whole trip itself if you count even that is costing me around $900 for the five days I will be up in the area so really no too bad overall.

Ok this depends on SEVERAL factors....ask your self these questions when figuring up money for Roo.
A. Are you gonna eat all of your meals in Centeroo or are you gonna do some at camp? This is one of those catch 22's IMO. I usually bring pop tarts and small stuff for the morning but I also know that when I see the awesome food offerings they have, I am gonna chow down in centeroo. I usually factor in at least 10 dollars per meal (that includes a drink) just to be safe. Actually closer to 5-7 but again, just to be safe. (Note: if you find a cheap food vendor that you love, write it down on your map or somewhere in case you get messed up or drunk later and cannot remember)
B. Are you gonna purchase beer in Centeroo or go to the brewers tent? Beer is not cheap at Bonnaroo. Beer tickets for the brewers tent are 1 dollar a piece and most beers take at least 7 tickets (some take more). Not sure how much the long neck bottles were but lets say 7 as well. If you drink 4 beers, that is almost 30 dollars! Keep that in mind...
C. Are you a person that gets concert shirts or items to take home? They have ALL KINDS of vendors at Bonnaroo. T shirts, jewelry, hammocks, temporary tattoos, candles, hell you can even build a drum...but it all costs money. If you get a shirt it usually will be around 25 dollars (unless you can find a knockoff vendor selling theirs), posters vary in price. 1 shirt and some odds in ends can easily put you back 50-75 dollars. (Note: shop around 1st before you buy an item. You may see something else you just HAVE to have. Some items are also VERY pricy.)
D. Are you bringing just water or are you gonna buy sodas/drinks in Centeroo? 3-5 dollars depending on what you get. I think soda ran 3 dollars last year and vitamin water ran 4. Lemonades had two sizes 4-6 maybe? Bring in water to save money
Review time: 3 meals in Centeroo and 3 beers is about 50-55 dollars. Buy a shirt and maybe a poster and a key-chain...65-75 dollars. Get some cold drinks rather than walking back to camp? 20 dollars a day (two people).
Now, if you are gonna go bare minimum, 200-250 will do just fine. This will allow you little wiggle room in ways of any extras you find but you will not starve.
To me personally, I think 3-400 dollars will set yourself up nice with some souvenirs and some cash to possibly take home as well.

I really do not plan on buying much food at centeroo. In 09 I thinks only bought a jambalaya (I.do have a soft spot for jambalaya) and fried Oreos. Well if you don't count extra curricular activities. Which is what my cash is for! It all really depends on your budget. I will be bringing in plenty of snacks to last the day and will eat a big breakfast at camp. If my budget allowed I would obviously be the guy buying all his meals at centeroo and throwing cash around like a crazy person at the vendors. Not this year though maybe next year once I finish my MBA!
Basically you know your household budget. You know what you can afford to spend at the hyper inflated festival prices and what you should purchase outside feet and bring with you to survive.

I spent a couple of hundred at Wal-mart before I went last year and I barely ate any of the food I brought. I brought stuff to prepare meals but didnt eat any of the meal stuff except for one chicken breast my first evening. I did eat granola bars, protein bars, and lots of fruit though because it was quick, provides some calories throughout the day, and they allow it into Centeroo. I ended up eating nearly all of my meals inside Centeroo. I found a lot of fairly priced stuff. So, I am going to stick to snack foods and fruit in my cooler and save some pre-spending for the festival this year.
Last year, I think I took $300 in cash but it was gone halfway through Saturday so I got out another $200 and spent most of that but that also included my share of gas on the way home plus two meals during the ride home too.
I think $100 a day would be a fair estimate, especially if you want a t-shirt and to shop a little at the vendors. I always get something for my daughters when I go somewhere so I had to pick them something up and I wanted at least one thing so I got some prints. There is just too much cool shit at all the vendors not to take home something.

The little woman and I useually bring arround 3k reason being we travel from the top of the state , one exit away from Canada . No not the Buffalo boarder but Champlain boarder . So that fact alone adds a tank or two of gas just to get out of the state . So that means an extra 140 on both ends of the trip . So along with fun money (food,T-shirts,other fun stuff) we need to bring enough gas money and hotel money .(two nights one on the way down and one on the way back)
I was just looking at all the receipts from last year. I throw all of our Bonnaroo stuff in a folder when we get back so I can look at it all later or the next year if I need to. We took out $400 in cash to take with us and we took out $100 two more times while on the farm. I seriously have NO idea where all that went. We just ate fast food on the way from Ohio. We didn't use the cash for gas money. I know that we bought ice while there several times and at in Centeroo probably 2 times a day. We didn't have camelbacks so we were buying a lot of water. We bought 2 posters and a tshirt and had them sent home from there and the postage was a bit expensive. Oh and we paid $20 a day to take the taxi's back and forth from Pod 10 every day. Other than that seriously I have no idea how we ran out of $400 on Saturday and then we got $100 on Sat and another $100 on Sunday. Crazy. LOL
