Having by now seen most of the acts I'd really want to, my bucket list (consisting of those groups/artists which themselves haven't already kicked the bucket) is pretty unlikely.
1. Led Zeppelin 2. Pink Floyd 3. Talking Heads 4. The Smiths 5. Kraftwerk 6. Sly and the Family Stone 7. The Byrds 8. Portishead 9. Daft Punk 10. Joni Mitchell
Others outside the top 10 include Massive Attack, The Sex Pistols, Tom Waits, Roxy Music, Primal Scream, The Stone Roses, Creedence Clearwater Revival and New Order.
Jason and the Scorchers (they play one-off reunions in Nashville occasionally but I am always either booked or broke when they do)
Exit/In
Yeah, I'm hoping not to be on the other end of the state for work next time they hit up Nashville. Exit/In or 3rd and Lindsley would both be good spots for them. Just hopefully not another show at The Rutledge. I despise that place. Rudest staff in Nashville.

Never been to the Rutledge. Sounds like I haven't missed much. Yea, I saw a bunch of people in the 70's at the Exit/Inn. I actually thought they had closed. Did they close and open back up do you know? cr****

I'm old enough that I've been lucky to see a lot of these bands already. Here is my current bucket list:
Glastonbury The Gorge Iron Maiden Black Sabbath Rage Against the Machine Deep Purple Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd - Saw Roger Water's The Wall, but it's not the same. Eric Clapton Elton John Soundgarden Modest Mouse

I've lived here for about 15 years and the Exit In has been open since I've been here.

They closed for a minute in the 80's and redid it, the stage faces the other direction from what you are used to.
10.The Stooges 9. Konono No1. (I was at a show when the city blacked out. I want a do-over) 8. John Cale 7. Bjork 6. Steve Riech 5. Michael Rother (NEU!) 4. Damo Suzuki (Can) 3. Silver Apples/ Simeon (Solo) 2. Bowie 1. Kraftwerk
7 is now this guy.
His name is Merzbow. He's incredible. I'll knock him off in September.

If anything this thread makes me realize how lucky I am there is just not a ton of stuff left on my list. Pink Floyd with Waters and Gilmour is about the biggest thing I have left. I saw them on the last tour in the 90's but to get those two back together would be amazing.
1.Zeppelin 2.Portishead 3.proper PJ Harvey show (saw her with John Parish) 4.proper Fiona Apple show (saw her with Nickel Creek) 5.Faith No More 6.At The Drive-In 7.RATM 8.Prince 9.Massive Attack 10.Soundgarden
some that won't happen Pink Floyd, Cream, Talking Heads?, Outkast?
I know this is about bands but on my list of things is to save a life. I will when I die I hope. Organ donor just do it .... ok off my horse....cr****
just taking the opportunity to say, I don't know if it's true everywhere but in SC, even if you are a registered donor, even with the little heart on your driver's license, the organ donation agency still has to get permission from your next of kin. so if you are a donor (which everyone should be!) please make sure your family knows and will honor your wishes.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

If anyone here has anything to say about it give my knees to the needy.

Ain't never gonna happen: Bauhaus Dire Straits Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd The Smiths
Eternally regret missing: Beastie Boys The Clash Jeff Buckley Morphine
Now that we live in Toronto, it is easy to knock bands off my list, but some seem unlikely to ever happen
Talking Heads - reunion not likely AC/DC - not likely unless festival. won't pay $$$ Franz Ferdinand - easy, next time they hit TO The Thermals - easy, next time they hit TO
Quick update:
-Caught Thermals in May. Awesome! -Just bought my Franz Ferdinand tickets for October!!! -Got to see David Byrne play my favourite Talking Heads song at roo (Road to Nowhere), so that is almost enough to take The Talking Heads off my bucket list. Almost.
We all talk about our "bucket list" acts and with so many high potential bucket list artists touring or playing festivals this year, there's a lot of opportunity to do some serious crossing off. I propose making a list of 10 Bucket List shows where the members are actually living, might one day tour, or in the case of broken up groups have some reasonable chance of reuniting (I'll let you decide if Smiths or Talking Heads etc. are worth putting on your list). Then as you get to cross something off the list, come back here, strike through the one you removed, talk a little about seeing them if you want, and then add a new member to the list - you know, like the 10 Most Wanted lists. I'll start:
1. Prince 2. Led Zeppelin (Page, Plant, Jones) 2. Paul McCartney 3. Smiths (or at least Morrissey/Marr together) 4. Van Morrison 5. Peter Gabriel 6. De La Soul 7. Kate Bush 8. Depeche Mode 9. Adele 10. Yaz
Time for a bump since I knocked off two of these last year, reordered some and removed two acts that don't seem like they'll get together in my lifetime. Here's my latest bucket list:
1. Prince 2. Van Morrison 3. Daft Punk 4. Beck 5. De La Soul 6. OutKast 7. Peter Gabriel 8. Adele 9. Kate Bush 10. Yaz
1.Zeppelin 2.Portishead 3.proper PJ Harvey show (saw her with John Parish) 4.proper Fiona Apple show (saw her with Nickel Creek) 5.Faith No More 6.At The Drive-In 7.RATM 8.Prince 9.Massive Attack 10.Soundgarden
some that won't happen Pink Floyd, Cream, Talking Heads?, Outkast?
the only thing that has changed about mine is Outkast is now possible so I would move them into the top 10 and remove Soundgarden.
10.The Stooges 9. Konono No1. (I was at a show when the city blacked out. I want a do-over) 8. John Cale 7. Bjork 6. Steve Riech 5. Michael Rother (NEU!) 4. Damo Suzuki (Can) 3. Silver Apples/ Simeon (Solo) 2. Bowie 1. Kraftwerk
I knocked out Bjork last year. In a few weeks I get to knock Cale & Reich off. My elusive white wale comes a week after those.
