I am officially starting my 'petition' to get EotS at Bonnaroo this year. They're playing Sasquatch, Electric Forest (random) and Kanrocksas (randomest), so I think we may have a shot. I saw them at Ultra 2011 but I don't remember their set at all. I remember two grown men in ridiculous makeup/headresses and jumping around a lot, but other than that it's just a big colorful blur. Would like to see them again and not be so far gone this time. It seems somewhat unlikely to me they'll be there because they're the kind of band that usually shows up in initial lineups, but a boy can dream, right? Plus their new album is coming out the Tuesday after Bonnaroo (they released the first single yesterday), and their tour dates are kinda caddywhompus (they definitely have Roo weekend free), so...maybe? I might be the only one who cares, in which case this thread was made in vain. Whatever. I'm keeping the hope alive!
Rooin' since '05...(except 2014...worst June of my life!)
"Hey Peter Frampton! Do you like toast too? Yes, as do I. It is warm and crispy, and a perfect place for jelly to lay. Now stay the hell away from me Frampton, I ain’t got sh*t to say to you!"
This is just so good. Their debut album was a really big deal for me. I am very much looking forward to the new album and, hopefully, a chance to finally see them in 2013/2014.

I think they will get a good deal of American exposure this summer and probably end up on the lineup next year on their upswing with a big stage performance, possibly late night on the Which. I was happy to see them on the EFF lineup because they will do good to diversify their lineup but I think we already have our big spectacle artist (Bjork) for Bonnaroo this year.

Welp! I was wrong. Glad to see them on the roster though!

Where does everyone think they'll end up on the schedule? I think they're production is too big for a tent. I also think they may be too big for a tent. So I think this rules out LN. I could the the 8-9:30ish Which slot on Saturday. My only fear is a conflict with Bjork if she pre-HLs. The Roo Gods can't be that cruel though.
Edit: Hmmm...I was thinking they were listed 16th on the lineup. Its actually 22nd. They'll probably be in a tent. Damnit! They need to add screens to the tents this year. This is a show to see and hear.
I saw them at red rocks in 2011, and while it was interesting to look at... they sounded absolutely horrible. horrible I tell you. like straight noise. not even audible music... it was at red rocks, which is known for acoustics and enthusiastic crowds, and nobody even stayed for their whole set. now granted, I was tripping. hard. and i found myself really stressed trying to wrap my head around it all, but even the guy we went with who was really looking forward to them was disappointed. he thought kid cudi put on a better show, and he's by no means a cudi fan. are they, like, experimental with their live shows? or was this just a one time crappy sounding show?
not to hate, but i'm worried bonnaroo doesn't really know what they're getting with this add...
OK, I'm going to come out and say that I simply don't get this.
I've watched some live videos, listened to some pre-recorded tracks, read up on the band's history, etc. Usually there's something to a band that a lot of people like which I may be able to understand/comprehend. I simply don't get EOTS at all.

I've heard of them before, but really didn't know anything about them. Their Live show looks pretty nuts. I don't care for much of their music that I've heard, but I haven't listened to much either. I'll still be at their show tho....just because it looks like a lot of fun. Hope it is at Night and they don't end up a day show.

So please. Enlighten me if you can.
Its ok, more room for everyone else at their show. I've liked their music for years, since Walking On A Dream. Swordfish Hotkiss Night is such a cool, funky song. And I really enjoy the first single from their new album. For me it is also about the spectacle of their shows. The costumes, make-up, dancers, other assorted odd stuff. Roo doesn't get many of these types of acts.
