I wouldn't mind if the Pats grabbed him but I really think the Honey Badger's talent is way overblown. He's kind of a gimmick player to me. Definitely doesn't belong in the 2nd round if you ask me
Washington had a solid draft. Nothing flashy, but they addressed their secondary needs, which was essential. I also like the Jordan Reed pick a lot now that I know they were still able to grab a couple nice safeties after that pick. Brandon Jenkins could also end up being a major steal.
Holy balls, there are a lot of picks in the 7th round.
It has the most because 7th round compensatory picks are like the NFL handing out tic-tacs they're so meaningless. Basically, if any UFA leaves your team and does anything of worth for another team (without you signing an UFA of the same value or greater), you get a 7th.
The Pats didn't have a good draft, at least I haven't heard much buzz about it being anything worthwhile.
"Buzz" is a pretty worthless way to judge a draft. I'd say there's no good way to judge a draft until the players at least step onto the field.
That said, I like what they did. They added depth where they needed to, and if coach knows what he's doing with all these rutgers guys, the secondary won't be a weakness in the last couple years of brady's career. Also, dobson is a circus-catching freak of nature.
The only thing that's missing for me is John Abraham, and I've read that he's holding out on signing anything so that he doesn't have to go to training camp.
One game where he had a 151 QB rating in a blizzard? The WVU defense was horrendous that game. He got them within 8 in the third and they gave up a scoring drive in like 2 minutes.
His throws weren't bad that game, his decision making was, and that's his biggest hurdle to being a good NFL QB. His physical tools are all NFL-ready.
As a Clemson fan who watched Geno Smith destroy my team on national TV, I concur that he is a very good QB who I hope does great things. Just a way I justify the ass kicking I witnessed in Miami.
