No since "gay" has a double meaning and racial slurs are usually more aggressive. A better comparison for racial slurs would be the F word which I don't use.
It's OK to borrow hate speech as long as it's not too "aggressive"?

what's defined as a hate speech, relies solely on the intention. If I ran over a black man because of personal reasons, it's attempted murder. If I ran over a black man because he's black, it's attempted murder AND a hate crime. I'm pretty sure I wasn't being hateful forward gays, but satirical towards those who are.

You're wrong, and I no longer have the patience to explain to you why you're wrong. Maybe you'll understand one day, when your brain is fully developed.
Wait am I missing something? Of course the pats were happy/merry they just won the Superbowl. I was on a whole new level of gay Sunday night. Frank Sinatra would have written songs about it.
Did you guys ACTUALLY not see the satire behind it?
Such biting satire, too. Because Patriots has a long A, and gay has a long A, and the Patriots won the Superbowl, so clearly they're all gay... or something. I heard they even smack each others' butts in the locker room!
aww shut up you guys, my friends thought it was funny...
I'm not sure what is more unnecessary/annoying: A teenager making a lame teenager joke about homosexuals or 5-10 adults making a point to call him out on it.

So you don't know if it is worse to make jokes about gay people or for adults to point out why that is wrong? Really?? That's stupid. This topic was dead and you brought it back up with nonsense.
Looks like we both agree on basically everything here. We both agree that the original joke was lame. We both agree that it is unnecessary for there to be 45 posts about it. I'm pretty sure your comment about me bringing back the dead topic was because you were as annoyed as I was that the whole thing went on for 45 posts.
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anyone explain to him why his very basic joke was offensive. I saw a lot of people just call him out on it. And then I saw him have a natural human response by being defensive. Over and over and over and over again.
King T - You are correct in saying that the intention of a statement is very important in determining if someone is actively being bigoted, offensive, racist, or mean-spirited. However, there are unintentional actions and statements that may seem trivial but are actually just as big of a problem. When a homosexual hears people referring to something in a negative way by calling it gay (or any derivative of gay), regardless of the intention, they may or may not take offense to it. When they hear it being done repeatedly, for years, their entire life, it just drives in that message that people associate them and people like them as inferior. It is something that is so mainstream and commonplace, that they also feel like no one really cares that it makes them feel inferior. It actually starts to make them subconsciously think that they are in fact inferior. Perpetuating those types of jokes and using those words in that manner may be done in jest or without cruel intention, but it is adding to the problem. It also validates others who use those words with purely bad intentions. It subconsciously makes those people feel like their hatred or bigotry is normal and accepted.

Why do the Chargers need to move to LA? Is the market really that bad?
I can see the Raiders going, but two teams is unnecessary.
The Chargers really just need a new stadium. And LA is certainly attractive especially if you're the only team in town. But if I were the owner of SD and had to share LA I think I would rather have a newer stadium in SD and negotiate a deal that includes some type of public contribution. I think ideally the Raiders and Rams go back and share a stadium and you don't even need to have teams switching conferences. It's not like LA shouldn't be able to support two NFL teams.
1. It's ridiculous that cities and states get extorted to build new stadiums. These people that own NFL teams are billionaires, they can afford to make new stadiums happen. Or make the financing happen without having to extort taxpayers.
2. Los Angeles could support two teams, but there's no real need for it. Look at New York. The Jets, come on now - who gives a shit?

Meh, tax breaks and other incentives are given to businesses all the time to attract/keep them. I don't think it's right either but it happens.

You know there's only one NY team I give a shit about and it ain't the Jets. But that doesn't change the fact that NY supports two teams better than some cities support one. And I really don't know how well LA will support two NFL teams. Or how long that support will last once the new team smell wears off. I can't believe they've gone this long without one. If I grew up an LA Ram fan I'd be blowing shit up I'd be so pissed.

To me it seems like a bad trade for the Bills to make. While Spiller has been injury prone, Alonso has a much brighter future in the league than McCoy. I can only guess that Buffalo does not expect to be able to sign Kiko when he becomes a free agent.

I didn't even know McCoy had a chance of being traded and now I feel stupid for not seeing it. What about Murray/Peterson? Where do you guys think they land?
