You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
He gets next season. This season would have been the one to judge him on if not for the injury. I put him in the "good enough to win" but not good enough to shoulder a team category, fwiw.
I have him in the same category, and I think the season after he lands the biggest deal ever is all he gets, also.
He has one of the top three or four skill groups to work with, draft him a non-sh*tty OL (or sign one) and if he doesn't make the playoffs Beavdog has to wear an Aaron Rodgers jersey every Sunday the following season.
Although I would definitely bet that the Bears make the playoffs, it's not up to Jay alone. They should've been there this year but the defense was terrible. The O-line was actually good, at least a lot better than previous years. I'm more worried above the defense, who they're gonna cut, draft, and pick up in FA. I'm also worried about Mel Tucker calling the shots on defense, I thought he was subpar but I'm willing to give him a mulligan because of all the injuries on defense. The first 3 weeks the D was respectable.
As for Cutler, right now I'd say he's between 10-15 in the league. This is based on performance so far. I think with this offense he can definitely be 5-9, somewhere in there, possibly better, we'll see. I do think that he'll put up comparable numbers to Aaron Rodgers. This of course is barring any injuries.

Which he's never done until this point, so sure, why not predict it to happen.
He's guaranteed $52 million, if he doesn't produce after three seasons then they can drop him without owing him the rest of the $126 million. In the NFL all that matters is guaranteed money, they can cut you whenever they want but they have to pay the guaranteed money. Some other guys out there are making more per year, like Flacco. Look what he did this year, Cutler has never had a season that shitty. Cutlers stats are very comparable with a lot of QB's in the league through 8 seasons, and he's never thrown more picks than TD's in a season.
Yes I'll predict it now, because he's finally in a good system with plenty of playmakers.
Not exactly what you want to be saying when you're paying a guy more than any player, ever.

Well, he's getting $54 million in guaranteed money, not $52, which puts him above Flacco and tied with Aaron Rodgers. Now, most people would agree that guaranteeing Hay Cutler the same amount of money as Aaron Rodgers is foolish, but...you seem to think Cutty is on the same level as Rodgers. Which is, to put it bluntly, astoundingly dumb.
The "more TD's than TO's" thing is really something to hang your hat on. Just because Flacco and Manning do it turn it over more than they score and are wildly overpaid doesn't make it the benchmark for big money contracts. And Cutty had 27 td's with 26 TO's before, let's not pretend he's throw up 30 & 10's every season. He has never thrown for 30 TD's, he hasn't even thrown for 20 since 2010!

I don't think he's at Rodgers level yet but I think he has a legit shot with Trestman and that offense to put up big numbers. The fact is Trestman knows how to work with QB's and they seem to have a good rapport. I'm going to trust the QB whisperer putting his faith in Cutty.
The bottom line is I'd much rather the Bears take a chance with someone who has potential than the alternative. The Bears have never had a good QB before and that's why Cutler's breaking all their passing records in just a few seasons. I don't wanna go back to the revolving door of QB's again, those were some bad years.

I will agree that locking down Cutler seems more attractive than throwing your hat into the ring and trying to find a new starting QB. But I still don't think he deserved that much money.

They let him leverage the fear of not finding a good QB against them.
No surprise here that Josh McDaniels withdrew from consideration for the Browns job. I really believe he has been promised the Pats job when Bill calls it quits and is just biding his time.
Hour and a half til kickoff! I'm a ball of nerves, excitement, fear, serenity... It keeps changing. This is a huge revenge game, for both the thrashing on MNF and the playoff loss three years ago.
Fully prepared for the season to end tonight as all the odds are against us. It's been an up and down year, but it's been a lot of fun.
So Flanz since it appears that there's a snowball's chance in hell that you'll get Watkins what are your thoughts on Benjamin as a consolation prize?
Ew. Watkins is 100% gone, that leaves Marqise Lee and Mike Evans. Lee looks like he could be a bigger Antonio Brown, but Lee is massive and reminds me of Vincent Jackson. I'd be happy with either of those guys.

Mike Evans should be an excellent pro. With his size, I'd even prefer him over Watkins if my team was looking for a first round WR.

Nah, Watkins is the real deal. Top-end speed, perfect ball skills, great route runner. He's the total package, he is far-and-away the top WR.
But I'd give Evans the nod for 2nd WR off the board due to his size, the way he uses his body to box-out defenders, and his hands are incredibly strong. He gets his mits on a ball and it's like he's using stick'em.

also you have to factor in character, if you saw the way Mike Evans was acting in their bowl game, Sammy would never do that, he's all about business. I believe Evans is a bit of a prima donna.
