To be fair, demand for weekend 2 was pretty soft last year. George was able to go last minute on the cheap (I think it was him). I doubt that happens consistently though.

I'm sorry the reasons I have for liking Weekend 2 cannot persuade you guys.
Both weekends are fun. I went to weekend 2 last year, solely based on a real-world scheduling conflict, and happened to like it better for a variety of reasons. Sorry that you think they are BS.
I might do both weekends this year. Maybe I'll end up liking weekend 1 better. Maybe I will continue to prefer Weekend 2.
Can't we all get along and enjoy the festival in harmony?

I will say that having less of a crowd was an advantage in going to weekend two of ACL last year. I could walk to the front of every stage up until the final two acts for each day.

I think this is pretty damn close to what we'll get. It's got pretty much everything that is confirmed and/or heavily rumored/likely. Missing a few, though.
What makes you say they couldn't possibly be talking about OSL?
Coachella is the only fest in CA that everyone knows. For a Radio.com nationally/internationally syndicated interview.... why would they tease around OSL like that?
