So if we have the design, can everyone create their own?
I thought we were going towards a more uniform design....so we all have the same kind of shirt instead of a million different ones? lol I can't keep up anymore.

1. The desire to add an homage to Whoreshack seems unanimous. Please understand that I want to handle this in a tasteful, appropriate manner. However, I am clearly still a "newbie" around here. Having never had the pleasure of meeting WS, I will need suggestions on how to best integrate "something" into the design. What you're all asking for is a bit of a tall order for someone in my shoes, and I don't want to disappoint (or piss off) anybody. Especially those closest to Whoreshack.
2. I'd like to voice my opinion on printing the shirts too. I've logged some time in those design (and fought through a computer crash) and I'd prefer to see us vote on a universal design and color scheme. I think the idea of having an Inforoo shirt that brings some unity/identity to the group is far more attractive than a bunch of different shirts hacked together from either design. I'm open for debate here, but you'd better have a convincing argument.
Those are my $.02. Let me know what you all think. I don't have time to mock up 400 different color schemes, so if we can start honing-in on a couple of shirt colors to work from, I'd be happy to put together some coordinating colors for the print. It sounds like the group is leaning towards design 2? That's probably better if we're going with Spreadshirt to handle logistics. I'm not sure if they'd print inside-out for the rooster face anyway.

A little "WS" somewhere hidden could work. Those who were closer may have some better ideas and I'll let them give their opinions/suggestions. Appreciate you asking for help on this topic.

I agree with this. In the past the customizable shirts were cool but it defeated the purpose of bringing us all together. Someone recently said Bonnaroo is like a family reunion for Inforoosters and I agree. So it'd be awesome to have us all unified and wearing the same design/color. Being able to spot someone in the giant crowd as a fellow inforooster was something that used to be easier before everyone had their "one of a kind" shirts.
As for color scheme, why not use the neon from the official color scheme this year as the base (very visible) and the blue, or lavender, or pink for the printed part?
Oh, and can we get the inside chicken face on the second design?
Just a thought, but what about maybe a sunflower color scheme. I think a golden yellow t-shirt with the first design in black printing would look pretty cool.

I may be alone but I don't really want neon for the base of the shirt. I'd like to wear this during the year when not at bonnaroo and neon wouldn't work for some settings. Would prefer something a little more simple for the main shirt color.

Not sure if a full shirt with that color would work but I do think if there was a way to get a sunflower into the design (with WS hidden on it as well) that'd be a nice tribute. That would definitely be an appropriate addition.
Universal w/a few coordinated color options. And jfg108..."chicken"? C'mmmoooon Maaaaaannn!
We're takin it old school when everyone had the same shirt. Plus that means our tireless design man beetbachs won't have to spend time creating multiple color schemes.
We are in a bit of a time crunch and the simpler idea (which was thought up before said time crunch) is convenient for that purpose as well.

I agree. A sunflower or the intials WS (or a combination of both) worked into the design in a subtle way would be wonderful. Thank you beetbachs for offering to incorporate that on short notice.

I think you misunderstood me...that's exactly what I'm pushing for. I just had to call out the "chicken" faux pas.
what if we stick with the exact design/colors for number 2 (with WS tucked in somewhere) and did a t-shirt and uni-tank option. I wouldn't mind the black if it were a tank i think.
Design #2 is my vote with a "WS" hidden in the design somewhere
I think the red and orange would look good on a lighter blue shirt and the music notes that are in the back won't be as hidden (it's a bit hard to see on black).
In trying to think of base t-shirt colors, the general consensus is we want something that won't be so unforgiving in the summer sun right?
Black - Too hot, too absorbent of the sun White - Nice and light, but will get way too dirty too easily with all the dust and other elements
Those are the two extremes of the spectrum. What is in between with out being too bold/neon, but still recognizable to spot one another? Unless the general consensus is people wanting a neon color?
Light/baby blue Light yellow Kelly green Royal blue Faded red or orange (if that kind of thing is possible with the maker of the shirts) Some kind of turquoise or teal
Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that don't seem like they would be too hot. Anyone else have color suggestions?

Just now catching up on this thread. Design #2 has my vote for sure! Great job! I liked the first one, but I feel like Design #2 looks more like a shirt most of us (at least I would) wear all the time. As for color, I think the shirt would look good in a light blue

Love, love, love both designs. I'm fine if we decide to do only #2 to remain unified, but I would seriously like to own BOTH of these shirts! We should try to find a way to make both even if they aren't both being printed before Bonnaroo. Also, I think Abra has a great idea with the sunflower on the back with the initials that way beetbachs doesn't have to rework his art.

Fwiw, I think he was going to refine his work anyway. As for the sunflower/initials on the back, and I mean this in the most respectful way, but I think we should just stick to the front of the shirt design, with an integrated homage to Mike. There are a lot of us who never did get to meet him, and yes I have a sunflower in my avatar for solidarity, but there may be people that don't want to explain the sunflower and how it ties into a shirt with a bad A DJ rooster on it. Like I said, I don't mean for this to be disrespectful in any manner towards Mike or his family, just providing commentary for the sake of a shirt's design.

I think it would be a good idea to make a separate shirt memorializing Mike using a sunflower in the near future. Perhaps some quotes or tribute to all the inforoosters who are no longer with us. It wouldn't be ready in time for this year's Bonnaroo as I feel it should have more thought and discussion about it and not be rushed but I was thinking it would be a good idea. It doesn't have to remind us of the end of times but rather spread the message of living life to the fullest and spreading happiness with others.
Go with design #2. Regarding color choices, I'd say keep it simple and avoid neon. Like others have mentioned, I'd like this to be a shirt I wear outside of Bonnaroo and the neon would make that difficult. I like dark shirts in general, but understand and would be completely fine with a lighter color.
Regarding a tribute to Whoreshack, I'm of the opinion a hidden WS inside the rooster somewhere would be the best bet. That way it's noticeable to those who are aware of it, but not something that's obvious.
I like ITM's idea of a full blown tribute shirt later down the road when there isn't a time crunch. I'd still like the hidden homage in this years shirt though.
Thanks again beetbachs for taking the time to donate your talent, it's much appreciated!

So when will these be available to order? Just a ballpark estimate? and have we confirmed it's the #2 design? Just wanna make sure I'm on the same page with everyone lol
Yes to design 2, yes the to hidden "WS," as far as the color, and i'm just going to talk out loud here....
I still stand by not being a fan of gray, but a light gray may be our best option here. Or maybe like a cream or tan? But the wrong shade of tan could be ugly. Light blue could work too, but depending on the design colors they may not "pop" the way we'd want them to. I know people are against neon as a bas color, but what bout using neon as the design colors? Although, I guess if they're not on a black shirt they won't "pop" either. How about orange? Like a pretty orange, not safety cone, but like sunset.
