Looked up and down and didn't see a HAIM thread. Really been getting into them the past week or so. Particularly, Don't Save Me and Falling. Also, great videos.

Katy Mae and I caught HAIM at GOTR last year. At first, we were a little iffy, but by the end, we were major fans. Those girls can totally rock it. I know a lot of you are planning for Walk the Moon, but I'll be at HAIM! Join me!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

Same here. Saw them open for M&S and by the end my friend and I were in love w/ them. I bought the EP but they are so much better live, I can't wait!!

Just decided I'll be at this show since I want to catch the one after it. I notice they've been a group for a while but Wikipedia only lists their one EP (and an iTunes live session). Is that all they've got or is there more I can listen to?

pretty sure they only have the ep and then live stuff. I saw them for Mumford two nights and they pretty much just played the same set two nights. They jam the shit out of some of the songs though, really percussion heavy if you like that kinda stuff

They're supposed to release an album later this summer. It's getting some major buzz. They won BBC Sound of 2013 last year (which is apparently sort of a big deal).
I'd encourage everyone to watch their set from the iTunes Fest (on YouTube). It'll seal the deal for you. I posted it in their Band of the Day thread too. Come find me under my light-up wizard hat!

Yeah, I've been talking to Este and they are actually working on the album RIGHT NOW. My question is, I really want to be on the rail for this show, I plan on getting there a little before JD McPherson, do y'all think that's early enough?

It's hard to say. I did EMA >> Cave Singers last year, expecting to get front rail, but instead I was pretty far to the right. Not a bad place by any means, but farther from the stage than I expected. Same goes for Electric Guest into tUnE-yArDs. However, two years ago, I managed to show up a few minutes early to most shows and get to the front. Made my way upfront for the Superjam after it started, even. It's proved more a game of luck than a science in my experience.

I really hope that luck is on my side thursday night then!!! She said she'd give me a shout out during the show if I got front row... which would probably blow my mind if it actually happens
Heard some people complaining about the sound for this, but it sounded good near the front where I was and the set was definitely a highlight for me. I knew Este was known for her stage antics but her actual playing was great and I'm pretty sure she had an onstage orgasm at one point. An intense performer for sure!
