You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
o'neil>>>Tejas I don't want Boneroo to just be automatically voted off. maybe he is a townie and the mafia are happy with how votes are going, which is why no one else voted for anyone who already had one vote. I went with Tejas because he was trying to wrap it up quickly. I have no real sense for where anyone stands yet.
o'neil, not trying to wrap up anything. I honestly didn't see LD vote for boneroo, so I changed my vote accordingly, and it just so happen to be you

You do realize that by changing your vote, you just made yourself the only one with 2 votes?
Just so there is clarity on how I wrap up and close rounds, a deadline will be posted well in advance, and moved according to the level of discussion. At this point, I do not anticipate this day closing until at the earliest 9AM CST tomorrow. That gives all of you almost 20 more hours. If I need to extend it, I will.

I do linana. However if you look at Mafia 61 when I was a townie, I wasn't concerned with being in possible runoffs. I think the best way to show that your a townie is by doing things in the interest of the town(opposed to making claims that no one can prove like saying "Im a townie!!"). Plus its still early and we haven't even had input from one player(Dr. Joe) so I expect more dialogue and some vote shuffling to go on. But you can bet that If I do get voted off quickly or any other player gets voted off quickly then the Mafia won that day.

I sort-of get that, but remember there are a lot of newbies playing this game (including me) so there may not be quite as much discussion and vote shuffling in this round as you are used to. Then again, maybe I'm wrong. For your sake, if you are indeed a townie, I hope I am wrong.
I still can't quite grasp that it's ever a good idea to stack the vote against yourself.
I'd be surprised if o'neil kept her vote on me, since she said the only reason she voted for me is because I stacked on boneroo. Which I already said I overlooked LD's vote, and changed my vote accordingly. But it is funny that she voted for me cause I stacked on another player. Then she stacks a vote on me?

I was just trying to avoid one player getting voted off so easily, since to me that seemed suspicious for mafia working together to quietly eliminate a townie, and set it up so that more than one person would have 2 votes. it wasn't personal Tejas, I think all votes are pretty arbitrary at the beginning. since you were the only one to add a second vote initially, and I wanted to add a second vote to someone else, I went with you. does that not make sense (the way it did in my head)? but I don't want to be accused of being mafia so, for now, o'neil>>>null.

I respectfully disagree. I want to quote what viking told me last game about 1st day voting because I think its pretty universal.
If you get people talking and votes start moving, it begins to provide a map. The more material each player posts, the more there is to pick apart. Some players like to fly under the radar and keep post counts down. They can be either townies or mafia, but that strategy is much more suited for mafia than it is townies.
Your best method of figuring out who is who is by voting patterns, but if you are looking for nuance, more in thread is better. Fast, quiet rounds favor the mafia because they need to manipulate more to save each other. This is mostly personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

It made perfect sense to me, because I had considered it myself.
I was actually going to vote for Tejas, after I saw that he voted for Boneroo (giving Boneroo 2 votes), because they had been bantering back & forth and I thought it would be interesting/fun to see a runoff between them. I figured there was a decent chance that one of them is mafia, based on their level of experience. But, for some reason I though Tejas already had 2 votes and therefore was already in the runoff with Boneroo, so I made a random vote instead. I'm glad someone else came along and voted for him, putting him in the runoff, since I miscounted his votes.
It totally threw me when Tejas changed his vote, making himself the only player with 2 votes. I'm not totally buying your explanation either; it still doesn't really make sense to me, but then again I'm new so maybe I'll understand it later.
And while I can understand myself getting mixed up on the number of votes that someone already has, I consider Tejas to be a bit sharper than that so I'm not sure if I'm buying that his stack against boneroo was accidental.
I find a lot of Tejas' activity so far to be suspicious, but apparently in the last game Tejas also came across as suspicious and ended up being a townie. So I'm torn, but keeping my vote as is for now.

I see the point about more posts providing more material to go on, but I still think it would be hard to find patterns or pick out mafia in the first round. I feel like I am the only one right now with my neck out since I have had to defend myself. in a way, it is a similar point though to the one I was trying to make, that a fast quiet round where one person was easily killed off seemed to indicate the mafia were ok with the target.
if it's true that more posts are an indicator of townie over mafia, then so far that really only applies to the two of us and maybe BlackAmy. so if you really are a townie then, carry on.
also, this game is harder than I thought. I feel like everything has the potential to be suspicious, but trying to defend yourself seems like it can also make you a target.

thanks for that, I am glad it made sense to someone else! I will have to think about the rest of it, you bring up some good points.
I think I'm too carefree to take this game seriously, and question everything and everyone... I don't know if I'm cut out Haha
Me too, it takes a bit of effort to stay with it in the beginning. But once you have some material to start making theory's in who is mafia, what could be going on behind the scenes are really watching people's posts, it gets more fun and interesting.

I wanna address the parts that I bolded. First I cannot speak for boneroo but I've only played 1 game of mafia so my level of "experience" is very very limited. So if your basing your idea that I might be mafia off my experience then you would be wrong.
Secondly, I dont know what to tell you to believe my explanation. What advantage would I have gained from stacking on boneroo then retracting my vote? If anything it put me in the spotlight, and not that I dont mind being the spotlight but it definitely makes the other townies question me. And while I appreciate you assume that I'm "sharper" than that, obviously I'm not. Again I've only played 1 game and my inexperience will show from time to time.

Dr. Joe, honestly how many different times do I have to explain it? What good does it do to stack on boneroo then resend my vote? If anyone can come up with a reason why I would do it then I'd love to hear it. Honestly, just think about it.

You know Maury is forging documents left and right for entertainment sake...
Is this your reasoning for voting for Tejas??
Pretty much. Just because Tejas says he's not mafia by no means makes it so. If anything interesting piques my interests and inclines me to change my vote then I will.
ellabelle, thats the perfect mindset to have while playing this game. But if you notice the only time I said "Im not mafia" was when Boneroo playfully asked me if I was mafia. Other than that, I never say "Im a townie" or "Im not mafia" as a defensive. I try to be as logical and transparent so everyone can see my P.O.V. and I'm trusting that players are smart enough to see that. Which I know all you are
However I am curious why linana & Dr. Joe bring up the boneroo stacking, then when I respond they have nothing to say? Were you guys just trying to stir the pot?

Ummm reason #1.) get a reaction from me and run with it to make me look suspicious? Simple mafia tactics. Not saying it's why YOU did it, but it's the explaination you were looking for
THANK YOU Boner. That makes sense, I will say though that as soon as o'neil brought it to my attention I changed my vote. Which makes sense cause like I said I overlooked that you already had a vote on you. So if my motive was to get a rouse out of you I did a pretty terrible job, plus I only kept my vote on you for about 1.5 hours. Again if my motive was to get a reaction out of you leaving my vote on you for that amount of time doesn't make sense

I only brought up the stacking to explain why I thought oneill voted for you, when you questioned it. And because it was just weird that you said you didn't know boneroo already had a vote, when his vote was counted long before you posted. Not trying to stir the pot at all, though I do appreciate the dialogue that has resulted.
Seems you're the only one trying to stir the pot, Tejas.
I'd like to wait for MikeD and LD to make a post of substance before I vote. I see no reason why they should get to skate by every first round without saying much.
I'm just gonna post songs in Youtube videos an awful lot this game.
