I can't comment on the OP question cuz I don't know...
What I do know is that I'm so biased in favor of Carolina style pulled pork with a vinegar base with just a touch of hot sauce and cole slaw. I don't think any other type of BBQ will trump that, imo. I miss home lmao

Also- just realized... Your new signature rocks! I laughed so hard at that last night.

You laughed, I cried. Tears of joy. I'm so glad they brought Carrell back for the finale.
It's not BBQ and it is a tourist joint, but I love the Pancake Pantry in Nashville. Damn good breakfast food. 3 Crow Bar, on the other side of town, is a fantastic dive bar.
I couldn't disagree more about Pancake Pantry. My opinion obviously, but I find their breakfast to be decent, but certainly not worth the wait.
Loveless Cafe really is THE breakfast spot in the Nashville area. OMG, the biscuits.

Good lord, I had no intention of creating such a heated BBQ debate but I'm glad I did. Thanks for all the suggestions folks. Papa Turney's has officially been added to my schedule. Best lineup addition ever.

If you want a BBQ joint that doesn't take you further into Nashville when leaving the airport and is on the way to Manchester, check out Bob's Barbeque in Smyrna. It's yummy.

Bob's sounds pretty great. And this negative yelp review actually makes me want to go there even more...
After almost 30 years enjoying Bob's Barbecue, I picked up my last family pack today. The young man that waited on me at the drive up window, called me Mamm. I corrected him on the fact I was a Sir not a Mamm. He snickered as he closed the window.I am not sure how many women he knows with a mustache but I did not get the expected apology I was waiting for. When he opened the window and handed me my order he said Yo! and closed the window. I guess that stands for Thank you very much and please come again. Not in my lifetime.
How about Porky's Pit or anything else in the Manchester area? Coming in on 24 so i don't know anything else around the farm
My friends and I went to Two Purple Pigs last year on the Wednesday before 'roo in Manchester. We had an eight-person group, and everyone liked the BBQ there.
nature boy and I ate at Peg Leg Porkers grand opening last night, some of the best pulled pork I have had in town. The sauce once again needs a little work though.
Damn Kev, you stole me McRib joke. It is not Nashville, or TN for that matter, but in St Louis, Pappy's has some damn good BBQ! but get there early, because when they sell out of meat, they close, which is about 5pm. Now we are off to try Franklin BBQ here in Austin.

Peg Leg Porkers has the best pulled pork BBQ you'll find in downtown Nashville. My wife laughed at me for talking about it so after coming home last night and this morning after we woke up.
