A. The video was laaaame. I don't understand how that whole group of people were not only entertained for so long but laughing at this guy doing the same. exact. thing. for 5+ minutes
B. i agree with the waiving of rights to privacy once in a public setting. If you experiment and are not within the confines of your home, you have made your business available to the public at large. Youtube/Twitter/Facebook/Instagram is the anti-privacy mafia lol
I find it odd that Phi is the only one who is putting fault with the guy who dropped a bunch of acid and had a t-shirt fight with the air/surrounding campsites for an hour.
And while I wouldn't have an issue giving him a bottle of water, I'm not inviting that guy to recover his senses at my campsite. He's only being harmless because he has a t-shirt in his hands and not a 2x4 or something.
Druqs can be fun, but Bonnaroo is not the best place to try out some new substances between the heat, physical exertion and the fact that scummy little wooks can give you spiked druqs. I advise people to know what they're getting into before doing it in one of the most grueling festival settings in the country.

I agree with Flanz, while Bonnaroo is a great setting to let loose and enjoy yourself, its not neccesarily the best place to swim into uncharted waters. Know your limits and prepare yourself for whatever extremes you are reaching for.
If I were disgusted by a video like that then I wouldn't repost it for everyone else to see as part of a new thread. You have just invited all of inforoo to share in this kids' shame.
I feel like both parties here are at fault. Always take druqs with caution, especially psychedelics, especially at a hugely populated summer festival. That being said, filming other people in a state like this, to get a kick out of it, is just mean and lame.
I find it funny that although the guy got himself Quacked out of his mind, it is somehow the camera person's responsibility. Sure, they could offer him a water, but that's not gonna do much. (not to mention, he may have just drank a gallon of water anyway, you don't know). It's good to help people, but he needed more than just water. I certainly don't go to Bonnaroo to babysit strangers that thought it would be cool to do too much NO NO WORD!!!
He did it to himself. Voluntarily. Where are his friends? They should take care of him.
People need be be responsible for their actions, rather than shift the blame onto others.

It was not my intent to bring more shame to the guy being filmed. Roo directs you to YouTube when you register your wristbands and shows related videos...this was one of them.
I had no intentions really but hoped that people on Info and who attend Roo would see it and request it to be removed. I would have helped the guy regardless if he was tripping, rolling, drunk, or just suffering from heatstroke.
I stopped watching it as soon as I saw what it was. It is very difficult to get something removed from the Internet when it is not of you. Believe me, I've tried.
That being said, you have to assume now days that when you are in public, anything you do can and will be held against you. I don't think it's right. I would NEVER do that to anyone. And his friends should not have allowed it.
In 09 ... back in Pod 1, I saw a bunch of poeple recording video of a guy strapped down having a bad "time". I approached them and asked what they thought they were doing. "We are shooting a documentary ..." BS !!! I shouted at them. Then I stood in front of their frame and started calling them all bunch of a s sholes. I then asked what if one of their friends were in the same position, or themselves. I'm a huge supporter of shameing those who try to shame others.

Looks to me like a guy in his own world dancing and playing with his shirt. Seems like he's enjoying himself. If I saw him passing out or looking like he was in danger I'd like to think I help/offer water/contact staff but the video in this thread seems pretty harmless to me. For all we know he gulped down some water before his dance marathon. I don't know if I'd film someone doing this but I wasn't too offended by this one.

I made plenty of bad decisions in my younger days, some of which could have very well gotten me hurt or worse. You aren't living if you don't make some irresponsible decisions in your lifetime! I enjoyed most of my bad choices, but what I'm even happier for is the people, friends and strangers alike, who were there for me when I needed drove home, kept safe, picked up out of a mosh pit. Ya know- all the crazy circumstances you can find yourself in when you combine a free spirit with your young dumb mind.
I've helped complete strangers out many times now- because we all need that help at some point. Too bad this kid's personal growth experience had to be documented for eternity.

This ones my favorite, the kids having a blast. I don't think its totally uncalled for. The guy who goes up to him at the end made me really happy though.
Thats fine. But you can't honestly be surprised people film this stuff?
Yea, I was! In certain places I think people should "know the code." I don't film people period, especially in places like Vegas or in this case Roo
"Know the code" puts the responsibility on other people. If you genuinely don't want people to film you at your worst then you should always act your best.
I'm with you that filming this dude was not the right thing to do but you can't assume everyone is always going to do the right thing all the time. Everyone is at fault here.
Hey, this will be my first Roo and I've been reading and watching stuff to prepare. I ran across this video and to say it politely, I was disgusted.
Not referring to Fuse interviews about Porta-Potty experiences (that's funny.) More so being filmed when you're not even consciously aware you're being filmed and some summers breeze posting it.
How do you guys feel about being filmed while on the farm?
I find it odd that Phi is the only one who is putting fault with the guy who dropped a bunch of acid and had a t-shirt fight with the air/surrounding campsites for an hour.
People are weenies, there's not really much you can do about it aside from maintain control of yourself if you don't want a video of you like this on the internets.
And while I wouldn't have an issue giving him a bottle of water, I'm not inviting that guy to recover his senses at my campsite. He's only being harmless because he has a t-shirt in his hands and not a 2x4 or something.
I wouldn't necessarily invite this dude to come chill with me, but you don't always have a choice when someone who is clearly in over their head decides to take a rest at your campsite. This happened a few times when I camped in camp inforoo. And sometimes these visitors from outer space weren't even wearing pants... But none of us took videos of them

People need to respect the drugs they are taking and be a little bit more cautious with it. Imagine if this guy fell on your tent and crushed you while you were sleeping. I'd be pretty fucking pissed off to be honest.
Seeing that reminded me of my first day in 06... I was in rare form, myself, even for that more wild period of my life, and I was struck sober with fear when I saw this one albino kid going absolutely ballistic in a sea of tents. A few people went up to him to try to get him water, but he was just screaming at everyone and I think he was even crying. He was just wandering around for what seemed like hours, at one point drawing a crowd, and after that there was no sign of him. Don't know what ended up of that guy, but whew, you want to talk about a drastic mood changer. **we were on the other side of the road from where this was taking place, and 2 rows deep from the road... this looked to be a bout 4 rows in on the other side, to give you an idea of how loud and the scale this thing got to**
Then, Friday in 07, I believe my friends and I walked past the kid who died early that afternoon (fact checking? I'm pretty sure this was the story)... it was an hour or two before James Blood Ulmer was to start, and this golf cart with some young man laying in the back of it, looking lifeless. We kept walking and didn't look back pretty much instantly fearing that we just saw a dead person at this music festival. Something I often forget about, but maybe that's for the best.

I think the moral of the story is to not leave your friends behind, especially when they're embarking into a crazy world in their head. I think everyone at one point or another has taken it a bit to far and ended up a bit like this guy fighting with his shirt. It's a shame that his buddies weren't there to help him, because someone in this state is the most receptive to the help offered by his trusted friends, rather than strangers. That's partly why I think strangers are somewhat afraid to approach someone like this.
Last year, I was that guy, completely spun out on Sunday during my favorite show - The Shins. If my friends hadn't been there to help guide me through my own head, I probably would've ended up in a very bad way.
Lesson learned though - I'm going to be much more careful about that sort of thing this year. Remember to look out for your friends

Just try to not let this ruin your vibes going into the fest...ESPECIALLY if its your first one. I don't think most people are out to exploit other, but unfortunately there are ass holes everywhere, even at Roo. But the majority of the fest is people that will help you out. Def wouldn't let this Bonnaruin anything though!
Yeah, I agree with Phi: don't act the fool on the farm, but there are many ways to act the fool, including leaving a brother in the blistering sun with no shirt on and no water and a head full of snakes and being tormented by swarms of invisible aphids...being filmed is the least of his worries. Honest to God, man...this is how people get taken down by sunstroke.
Edit: pretty cool how so many of us cross-posted the same thing at the same time.
This is what I'm saying. What awful friends. Before I even got to this post after I watched the video I was going to say, "My gf would NEVER leave me out to dry like this.."
Eitherway this guy is a summers breeze and a half for filming and putting up for 1 million people imo. But that is my opinion. People might give up their right to privacy but we can all still do what is right. This guy wants to have a job, maybe a family, maybe something in the future. Just lame.

I also think it is bad a$$ that like 95% of the posts here are, 1: Why does no one at least try to help 2:Even if I did nothing I wouldn't film this shit 3:what awful friends he has" 4: This is how bad things happen
