Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So I got myself and 3 friends, which is enough for a condo somewhere I think. Are there any areas that are typically awesome? West or East?
West beach, you have more beach houses than high rise condos (although there are several high rises). Almost any beach house on the West end will be great, but be sure you look at pictures first. With just 4 of you, you'll probably want a smaller place, I'm assuming, so if you want a house, and you want to be on West beach look on the LAGOON side of the road instead of the beach side. Also, on West beach, I can highly recommend any condo in Chrystal Towers (high rise). Its walking distance from the fest, has two hot tubs, a super nice pool, and private access to the beach - plus terrific views from the upper floors (anything above 5th floor).
On East beach, you'll find a lot fewer houses but absolutely TONS of high rise condos. Regarding fun, either East beach or West is great...lots of people gather on the beach in front of their condos for late night parties. Everyone is friendly and happy to have you join, especially if you bring a couple of 6-packs or a bottle with you.
Should I be big about "hitting the Florabama and other clubs" ?
If you like country music, yes. Actually, even if you hate country music (like me), Flora-Bama is worth seeing one night. It's a famous road house (like the Patrick Swayze movie). Its on the FLA/AL state line, its huge, its wild, its packed, and it has about 3,000 bras hanging from the ceiling over the dance floor. As for the best party spot in Gulf Shores, that's a place called Cohiba Dunes Cigar Bar - locals know it has the very best dance music and dance floor (which women like, if you're into that sort of thing (like me).
Honestly not that thrilled with the lineup. It's just perfect timing between finals and my bar prep course. Plus me and my friends have a strange infatuation with the south.
Nothing like fat-bottomed girls to make the rockin' world go 'round.
Tons of crossover here. Warpaint, Ed Sharpe, Phosphorescent, Built To Spill, Kurt Vile would all be great additions. Don't know much about Brand New. Are they any good?
Personally, I would be beyond stoked if Brand New were added. "Deja Entendu" came out when I was in high school, at the peak of the mainstream emo phase and I liked them a good bit, but wasn't really a favorite of mine at the time because by that point I hated most things that bared an "emo" label. I kind of forgot the band existed for a few years until one of my friends gave me a copy of their album "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me" and told me to listen to it. I wasn't expecting too much, but holy shit is that album good. Like, one of my favorite albums of the past 10 years good. Their last album "Daisy" is awesome as well. Listening back now, even Deja Entendu has its moments that I didn't care to look for at the time. Give "Devil and God" a listen and see what you think, anyway.
Who's already bought their Venom mask and is ready to strap in for Mr. Bloody Beetroots Wild Ride? AP and I will be the ones hammering tarps to the sides of the boom boom tent Saturday morning to make sure it's nice and dark in there. Can't wait to wake up 3 days later feeling like I got hit in the head with a sledgehammer.

After seeing their live videos I'm convinced the only thing that will make them miss the mark is too much light in the tent. With that in mind, any chance Hangout Fest considers having them play inside a haunted carnival ride while everyone rides through and rages like zombies? That could eliminate the light problem and make for one hell of a "Wild Ride".

With every passing day I'm getting more and more excited for them and Reignwolf. Both are gonna have people leaving the Gulf Shores raving about what they saw.
He honestly sounds like he's from a different decade. In a world of pop/edm madness taking over, it's refreshing to have guys like him and Jack White still holding shit down.

I've never posted before so be nice. But, I was wondering if y'all thought they were waiting to announce the rest of the bands till after Bonnaroo (February 19th)? I know they had to wait for Coachella to announce first. So I thought they might have to for the second one. That would help at least give everyone a ball park date instead of the whole month of February?
^ honestly, I haven't heard anyone bring that up yet but it does make sense. Sometimes it's as simple as other bands releasing their tour dates and such but I know there's a lot of planning when it comes to these respective fests and their lineup announcements. Wouldn't be surprised at all.

I don't know if anyone cares, but we can start piecing together the day-by-day schedule. Last year I put it all up in the OP, but I don't know if anyone other than me really cared about it. Either way, Jack Johnson looks like he'll be playing Sunday 5/18: consequenceofsound.net/2014/01/jack-johnson-announces-2014-summer-tour/
^ Always a good feeling. I've had ours booked since June so it's worn off a bit but once I get to that beach it'll hit me like a ton of bricks again. Can't Wait.

Here are my predicted/wanted adds for the fest:
Beck Jane's Addiction (Performs Nothing's Shocking) Spoon Damon Albarn Lorde Violent Femmes Television Talib Kweli The Airborne Toxic Event Flying Lotus Run the Jewels Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Frank Turner Warpaint Sons of the Sea De La Soul Dawes The Orwells Hurray for the Riff Raff
Also, with Outkast headlining, I wouldn't be surprised to see them take hip-hop/rap out of the tent, and leave it strictly to or more dominated by EDM. If you take a look at the lineup, there's already 13 EDM acts booked, and there were only 12 total tent acts last year (not including pre-party). While Pretty Lights is most likely closing the Chevy Saturday it seems, that's still the full allotment of those slots already. Plus, Run the Jewels on the beach on the same stage as build up to Outkast would be sweet and make total sense.

Yes, nothing says "beach music" like aggressively nihilistic indie-rap.
It's great to see that the additions wishlists are just as unrealistic and insane as the lineup wishlists.
You're right, my mistake. I forgot that the might Hangout can simply snap its figurative figures and any artist within earshot lines up for a chance to play the prestigious Chevy Stage.
I'm sure Damon Albarn's moody, melancholy piano-driven new album will work wonders on the beach. I imagine the sun-dappled hordes lining up for Jack Johnson will pack Television to the hilt. I'm sure that when Perry Farrell said that Jane's Addiction wouldn't hesitate to play a great gig if one opened up, he was referring to opening for the Black Keys at Hangout. A dense, heavy set from Flying Lotus will probably be a huge draw for a fest that has yet to book an EDM act that doesn't play straight cheese. And so on.
Could they book these bands? Sure, I suppose, given the right set of circumstances and enough money. Will they? I strongly, strongly doubt it.
My my, won't you look silly when Hangout shocks the world and books Dawes.

That's all he was saying. Chill ur boner. I guess I don't get what enjoyment there is out of roaming into threads and being condescending and dismissive of discussion/speculation. Especially at a time like right now where there's no news and we're all bored. There may not be one artist from his list added but not like it's completely out of line for one or two of those acts to get booked.

Why do you always try to put down anyone's wishlist or opinion that isn't your own? It's a wishlist, and some of these are extremely probable and there's evidence to support some of these.

So, I realize that some of these (if not most) will be impossible snags for the Hangout, but that’s why they call it a wish list, right? I figured most of y’all have these amazing inside scoops and you could help rule some of these out. I’m pretty sure none of these will appeal to anyone but I thought I would add to the conversation instead of lurk lol
Beach House Lana Del Ray Sigur Ros Krewella Hardwell AFI Lorde Empire of the Sun M.I.A. Skrillex Avicci J. Cole Miguel Pheonix The Strokes Damian Marley Smallpools Donkeyboy
^ There's a lot on that list that I would love. I had Lorde and Smallpools on my list too. For the sake of discussion, I would guess Skrillex, Avicci, the Strokes, and Phoenix are all too big to be added this late. Just personal opinion. I don't think we're getting anyone that would be on the top 2/3 lines. I think we'll get people that would fall right between lines 3 and 4 and below.

Well, it said "predicted" on it, so I assumed it was more than just a wishlist. And I am very interested in your evidence.
Beck - Originally rumored to be part of initial lineup announcement. Since has been added back to Firefly, maybe he just wanted to delay release of his tour dates.
Jane's Addiction - Originally tweeted about Hangout Fest, then it was deleted, doing anniversary shows in Vegas the week before, and statements lead to believe there will be more performances.
Dawes - Shown as part of Palladia's coverage of original lineup announcement, Shaky Knees crossover.
Hurray for the Riff Raff - Have tweeted about Hangout Fest before, was seemingly going to be part of initial announcement.
That's what I got so far. I know it's not perfect, and I know it'll be chastised, that's why I think those acts will be there, not saying that they will be.

Name one act on that list Hangout couldn't book.
How is it cool that Juggs gets to do this constantly? I know it's funny sometimes, but nearly every battle on here is started by three or four people. I don't understand why the mods ignore it so much. Mods do a thankless job, and I'm grateful for you all. It just puzzles me when I see you guys wondering how to fix these fights when it seems like the same handful of people are always involved with a constantly revolving myriad of other posters, both new and old.

The easiest way to keep the bickering down would be to avoid snatching the bait from those trolling. He's trying to rustle some jimmies and it seems to work.
But back on topic, do we have an idea of when additions may be announced? Are there normally a few rounds of additions or do they announce all at one time?
