Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm flying into Nashville with 3 other people and am wondering how you pack differently if flying in? Obviously we can't really bring in a cooler full of ice or food so what do you do?
None of us have been to a festival before and I don't want to miss something obvious! Any help/ inforformstion would be greatly appreciated!
I'm flying too and this is my first festival. From all the reading I have gathered on these forums, I will be packing my backpack as if I were to go camping. Just prepare it at home. Buy your coolers and drinks in Nashville and head on over to Bonnaroo.

I've never flown to Bonnaroo, but I did fly to Superball IX at Watkins Glen a couple summers ago. Here was my strategy:
In my check bag I put my tent and my sleeping bag. I also included a pillow case but not a whole pillow because I couldn't fit it. I stuffed this pillow case with clothes to sleep on at night (this is my wook move, do the same thing when crashing on hotel floors).
In my carry on I packed all my clothes and necessary ablutions (soap shampoo sunscreen toothpaste etc).
Upon arrival I hit up Wal-Mart for necessities. Water (the gallon jugs become night time latrines after you finish them. nothing like waking up next to a jug full of urine to remind me I'm at a kick ass music festival), peanut butter, bread, plasticware, and a cheap chair. I ate my major meals from vendors.
This worked out very well for me, I slept great and wanted for nothing really. The tricky thing for Roo is you really need shade, wasn't as necessary at Superball. A cheap chair you can buy and just throw away, but buying an EZ Up and leaving it behind would be pricey.

I have flown in the past two years to Bonnaroo. I've taken Southwest because they give you two suitcases and a carry-on. In one suitcase I put all my clothes and toiletries and things like that. Maybe other small items (fans, batteries, books/magazines) if they fit. In the other I pack my tent, air mattress, and camping supplies (bug spray, sun block, stakes/hammer, lanterns, flashlights, random things etc.). Then I fill up my backpack as a carry-on with any other things I need.
I don't bring a cooler but if you want to you can stop at Walmart or one of the many other supermarket-type places and get a cheap plastic cooler that you can either ship back to your home or donate/give to someone else. If you're taking the shuttle then you may not get a chance to stop and shop for items but if not....you'll be able to grab food stuffs around the area.
I flew in last year and actually checked a cooler as a piece of luggage. Look at the dimensions for checked bags for the airline you are flying and get a cooler within that range. They didn't even blink an eye when I brought up the cooler. I didn't have food or anything in it just camping supplies for the weekend. There was two of us and we each checked a piece of luggage. We carried our clothes as carry on luggage. We were pretty much able to bring everything we needed. We didn't have a ez-up but, I was able to get a lightweight sun shade on Sierra Trading post that only weighed 9lbs. We bought blow up pillows. Instead of full size sleeping bags we just brought those fleece sleeping bags. We did buy chairs on our way in and food of course. With three people you should have no problem getting everything you need onto the farm.
