I'm not getting my hopes up. I've heard this before *cough* root for roo tree *cough*
Kev, a word of advice. Go on & get your hopes up. It's going to be good!!
^What she said.
To give you a hint, I'm currently arranging plans to go pick it up this weekend because its too big and fragile to ship! (Though, technically, it COULD be shipped if well packaged)
I am donating my 2011 My Morning Jacket Bonnaroo Poster to the cause. I will keep the bid open for you guys to judge how much you want to donate. This was a limited run and is out of print and has been sold as high as $200 on E-Bay. Good luck and happy bidding!
I will have this available until the 5th of July, so get your bids in while you can.
Okay, here's something a bit out of the box... I don't make anything crafty, but I love art, and even more so, I love being a walking canvass for art. Scrog Walking canvass? Why, krissyjo, whatever do you mean?
I'm so glad you asked, random person!
I collect art, permanently, on my body. That's right folks, I'm talking about TATTOOS!
One lucky person will get to design a piece that will become a part of my body FOREVER! You may think I'm crazy, but this is for a great cause, and I am happy to have something to offer.
DETAILS
Tattoo will go on my outer left ankle.
Highest Bidder (HB) chooses/designs the tattoo
Once design is received, tattoo will happen within 2 months (to give time for me to make an appointment, of course)
If requested, pictures of tattoo in progress will be sent to HB
HB will receive a framed, color print of healed tattoo. (autographed upon request )
GUIDELINES (Because I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid.)
Maximum size: 3x3 (post-it note), or a wrap-around piece like an anklet
No nudity, skulls, or anything offensive. (I know "offensive" is broad, but once my ankle space is yours, we'll discuss if necessary)
An actual graphic is preferred, though text (i.e. quotes) can be considered.
I'm not getting my hopes up. I've heard this before *cough* root for roo tree *cough*
@stratsg90 I hope you didnt get your hopes up too high, cause here it is! :-P
*NOTE*: This item is NOT up for auction yet. We are working with Inforoo and QSAROO to come up with the best course of action for the auction, spreading the word, and any tax issues.
HOWEVER, here it is! HUGE thanks to the people behind the scenes at Bonnaroo, Gibson Guitar, and especially The Bonnaroo Works Fund!
Oh, and of course, EMMYLOU HARRIS who was gracious enough to sign the guitar!

@ntellier85 or anyone else evolved in making this happen I would really love to hear the behind the scenes story of how it came about as I'm sure it's fascinating.

Actually not too awful fascinating. Word got out to AC/SF about what we were doing here. Initially a few smaller items were donated. Then at Bonnaroo Dave had a chance to talk to someone and was informed about the guitar. He let me know and I was put in touch with someone with Bonnaroo Works Fund. That contact also has close ties with Gibson Guitars, as well as Emmylou Harris. She was a big player in all of this and luckily happens to live close to me so I was able to meet her today and get the guitar. I let her know how awesome it was and to tell Emmylou thank you from all of us!

Holy Schnikeys!!
Haven't been on I-Roo in a few days. Had a roller coaster couple of weeks since Roo. Trouble with low platelets halting chemo, running into some problems with some things I am working on at home. Some spectacular things happening too. But I am at work, feeling pretty overwhelmed tonight. Mike is away at an Americanarama show I couldn't get to. Thought I'd pop in and read some shenanigans. But then I saw this.
Neither Mike nor I are very good at being in the spotlight unless it involves laughing and dancing and merry-making. I know he hates being the center of attention unless he is making someone laugh. This experience of watching a group of people who were brought together by our mutual love of musis, of a festival that allows us to escape from that which weighs us down...to watch you all rally around Mike, lift him up and try to carry him to the finish line of a race with one of the ugliest monsters known to us, well, it has been stunning to say the least. (Maybe Rosko could put some semi-colons in that mess and pretty it up).
We will never be able to thank you all enough for what you all have done. For providing him with the funds needed to afford alternative therapies, to afford co-pays. For being the ones to give him some laughter in the middle of this storm. For the spirit healing that occurs when so much positive energy is concentrated into one person and one cause. Never in a million years could we come up with the right words, or the right gesture. Sometimes "thank you" is all that we have. Even when it isn't nearly enough.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Love you.
I haven't met you guys yet but you obviously have a beautiful love for each other and a beautiful spirit that has touched so many people. sorry to hear about the setbacks, but hopefully they are minor bumps on the road to wholeness and complete healing.
keeping you both and your families in my thoughts and sending positive energy and prayers your way!
YAY! @ntellier85, thank you for arranging this & posting it on here. It's beautiful!! Now to finalize how to get it out there for the most exposure. If anyone has any suggestions, please PM QSAROO. Thanks!!
