I have just recently stumbled on the Special K Pastry Crisps. They taste amazing and are great for a morning or midday snack. I'm all for some almonds as well. Chips and Gauc would be my choice over salsa but I don't know how well it would stand up in the heat. Avocados are heavenly.

Any kind of jerky is great for you. Protein, and replaces all that salt that you're sweating out of your body...I like hard boiled eggs (or fried) in the mornings. And pop tarts and cheese/peanut butter crackers...pretty much anything a 7 year old might eat...
Me and a Raccoon became best buds one day after it crawled up to our drinking game in the middle of the day with a peanut butter jar stuck on its head. This jar was licked clean and I literally had to work for about 10 minutes with two hands to get it off. The raccoon ended up bracing himself on the railing and we were able to get it off with teamwork. Wonder what that lil bugger is up to nowadays.
While I'm not surprised this exists- WHERE exactly, have you found this? I NEED TO KNOW!
I need this question answered as well.
Tho I don't like admitting that I occasionally shop there, Florida Wal-marts carry it, plus convenience stores. It's especially good with chocolate and bourbon. Seriously.

My city has a BBQ festival called the Pig Out every year. There's this one place that serves up what they call "pig candy". It's bacon with brown sugar and I don't know what other spices but its amazing and you saying that bacon jerky goes well with bourbon and chocolate reminded me of it for some reason.
YES. I would have never thought to bring them, but they would travel well.
Aside from granola bars and peanut butter crackers, I'll probably just bring some chips and salsa (maybe if i'm feeling adventurous I'll even make my own...) and put some chopped up fruit in some plastic containers for a more refreshing snack.
