Did you ever spend 20 hours on a project for a huge customer only to realize that while your analyst gave you great data it doesnt quite meet the need? Yea....
The adderall I took isn't doing anything. Still yawning & my eyes are watering from sleepiness.... Only thing getting me through is the fact that I'm going to Chicago tomorrow & Lolla Friday!
#4: please for the love of god show up on time and be decent
This reminds me. I got an email today about a GA position in my schools study abroad office that pays $12/hr. I'm going to apply for it, so I may be sending you my resume & the job description at some point in the next couple of weeks. The deadline to apply isn't until August 17th, so I'll probably do it after I move.
Just a heads up. Also saying it out loud so I remember to do it.
I'm gonna be in Chicago tomorrow (kinda) and Friday. Are you going to Lolla? You wanna come out afterwards with us for my cousins "going away party" (aka, Gretchen, Brian, possible Alyssa and myself getting shitty in da citay)?
I'm a proponent of eating whatever you'd like, but in an office environment, eating turnip greens for breakfast will make you no friends. This is the second day this week.

I think you buried the lead for this story, it should have read, "I work with a human/rabbit hybrid".

I'll be in touch.
Also, you can bring me donuts. I won't be mad.
Yah, I'll be at lolla tomorrow.
I have aftershow tickets too. Sooooo maybe not shitty in da city but might be available for some little shittiness
had a table of 15 ~19ish year old girls. one has NO idea what to order. (keep in mind I work in an asian/mexican/south american/other equator countries etc restaurant)
"can I like, get a side of chicken?" "unfortunately we don't offer sides of chicken" "okay, like, what about salmon?" "there are a few sushi options that have salmon in them, but there is no cooked salmon" "okay.... uhm...." *friend suggests the poke - a raw tuna & salmon dish ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poke_(fish_salad) )* "okay, yeah. can I get that with only salmon?" "unfortunately no, we can't make that substitution" "okay, well I'll just eat the salmon. I'll get that" *has no idea what she just ordered*
walk by after she has eaten the dish. she has picked out all of one type of fish and put on a separate plate. all of the removed fish is the salmon. she had no idea which was tuna and which was salmon. nor had a clue that she ate only tuna.

i just spent 20 minutes cleaning up smeared monkey poop.
Hold up.
Was this job related? If so, what do you do?? If not job related...wtf?
Yes. I literally train monkeys. I do neuroscience/behavior research with rhesus macaques. Yesterday one of my more stubborn colleagues felt like expressing what he thought of the day's activities in a rather straightforward and grotesque manner.

Is it weird I think this is awesome? I mean, not the poop experience by itself, but the whole thing. Sounds like a pretty cool job! Probably makes it worth dealing with a little poop every now and then?

It is for the most part. But it is incredibly frustrating at times as well. My PhD work is basically at the mercy of a strong willed toddler. With teeth. And really stinky poop. If my status as a student weren't held hostage by their temperament and cooperation I would love evry minute. They are quite cute.
Today isn't a good day. It isn't really the loneliness; it's the uncertainty. Plus, my boss (or former boss) came in last night to pack up his stuff. I'm sad.

*hugs* Sending positive thoughts your way. Uncertainty can be very hard to live with. Hopefully, you won't have to deal with it too long.
