Hey so this is my first time at bonnaroo and I was wondering how I could charge my iphone if needed if I don't have a car with me? Are the charging stations only for people with VIP Packages? Or are the lines always way to long? Any cheap options to buy if charging insist possible? Thanks!
Anybody else have a product that they've used and would recommend. Right now I'm planning on trying the Coleman unit mentioned above but reviews have been all over the place so my confidence isn't exactly sky high.
(Previous years I've used - and loved- a Black and Decker Storm Station but it died the night before the festival last year.)

I bought this for the festival season this summer. I have used it twice and over a weekend my cell phone never dies! and it charges your phone very quick. I really suggest if you're camping away from your car, by this product. It charges my iphone 4s five times.
The Anker portable battery packs are the way to go. 15000 mah will charge a completely dead iPhone 6-7 times and also acts as an LED flashlight. I have two of them and don't go anywhere without having at least one on me or in the glove box all the time. www.amazon.com/15000mAh-Portable-Ultra-High-External-Motorola/dp/B00D5T3QK4
got this during counterpoint for $25, you were able to return it each day for a fully charged one. it charges my samsung 3 times same with a iphone, the company said they would be at other festival but idk about roo, ive used this thing everyday since counterpoint and love it. takes about 2 hours to fully charge it
Thanks musicmanjp270, Nugs4Hugz and fiesta! I ended up going with the Anker one since the reviews seemed to more specifically indicate that I will be able to get at least four full charges out of them. Both the Anker and the Jackery had 93%+ approval ratings on Amazon so it was tough. (The Jackery looked cooler but the Anker had four times as many reviews.)
Fingers crossed that this will allow me to stay in touch with my wife and baby during the festival. (And to tweet excessively!!!)

Some decent solar panels out there that attach to your pack. I used one for Disney, at bonnaroo I usually only use my phone for pictures. Note 3 has awesome battery life, will last all day

Gotta second this one! And at $50 it is a great bargain compared to most alternatives.

After doing a little research, this looks like the one I'll be picking up too. Fantastic idea and not a bad price, will definitely come in handy.

I find it comes in super handy in "real life", too. I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying around some of the larger chargers (especially the ones that use lots of batteries), and solar panels wouldn't be practical indoors. But this thing is small enough to take with you daily. It's really spoiled me. No more low battery anxiety!
Another thumbs up for the Anker. I just got it and managed to make my phone last 8 days with it, with heavy use. If I tried to conserve battery at all it probably could of lasted 2 weeks.
Take two 6 volt batteries and and bridge them together with some wire. Next, attach the bridged 6 volt batteries to a cigarette lighter (purchased at RadioShack) and then use your phones car charger to charge you phone in the cigarette lighter adapter.
I charged my phone and 3 others using this method last year at Roo and the batteries last almost the whole time (bring extra batteries in case)

the anker looks sweet i've already committed to a goal zero solar charging unit from costco a couple years ago. it has worked great at the last few festivals i've gone to - kept mine and the wife's phone charged through the whole day.

Sounds like something I slapped together a year ago. Two rechargeable 6V batteries (one alkaline 6V, some D batteries, and a D to 6V adapter as backups for this and a fan), a double socket cigarette adapter, a switch, some wires, and a Sterlite box with a handle. Held together with some epoxy putty my cousin manufactures and a bit of SuGru. Never got aorund to painting it to make it look more serious and less like a toy, but it works great, either with the USB outlet in the pic or any standard car charger. Cheaper and smaller than a decent commercial portable power supply, and plenty of juice for charging phones and cameras. You can go simpler than that, and since USB is normally 5V you can even use just one 6V battery, if you can get enough amps out of it to satisfy your phone - not sure about current phones and how much juice you can pull from a 6V lantern battery.
Got my Anker in the mail yesterday. Good God is it dense. Much heavier than I anticipated. Will be charging on it for the next few days to get used to it.

I got mine yesterday as well. I agree that it is heavier than I expected. I need to test mine too. Thanks for the reminder.

It definitely is hefty, but not enough so that it bothered me either in my pocket or backpack at Shaky Knees

And how do you define hefty? A pound? Or like holding 2 iphones?
I charged my phone three times and charged my friend's once (both iPhones) and it still battery life left. I'm not sure if it had another full charge left in it - I just know that I didn't drain it.

Somewhere between the two I guess, I'm not sure how heavy an iPhone but it is probably 5x heavier than my Samsung. It is probably the same heigth as an Ipod, about 50% wider, and at least 2-3 times as thick.
cheapest way to go is two 6v $4 batteries some wire and an old 12v cig socket. here are instructions, i made mine more primitive and just hooked the wires around the battery. The $4 worth of batteries will charge you all weekend. www.bonnarootips.com/long-lasting-easy-phone-charger.html
