This thread is dedicated to people that like to do more than just bob their heads at shows. This thread is for people who like to push others around, scream at the top of their lungs, and get sweaty as hell. Here's a list of shows that should be rowdy and sweaty and beautiful: Death Grips, Japandroids, JEFF the Brotherhood, Mac Demarco, Frank Turner, White Lung, Baroness, and Earl Sweatshirt (maybe). These shows are always the most fun for me at least so I don't want anyone who likes crazy shows to miss them. Let me know if there's anything I missed!
I know that brochocinco it fits in the thread cause it's gonna be sweaty and very intense
Judging by your username, I know you are no stranger to Swans. Lets be straight, though. Every show at Bonnaroo is sweaty. Michael Gira cannot request that the heat get turned up any more than it already is. And Swans' intensity pretty much immobilizes the audience. It is quite the opposite of a fun, jumping around affair.

saw JEFF a few weeks ago and it was the craziest show I've ever been to...felt like I went through a war afterwards, but it was awesome. These types of shows are my favorite.
The few times I've seen Mac included crowd groping surfing and covers of Rammstein and Danzig.
I wasn't expecting it all, but it happened. They tried to do Enter Sandman and gave up after everybody rushed the stage and the whole band dropped their instruments to do running stage dives.

That's exactly how I felt after seeing the Black Lips in the Which pit last year. It was awesome. I'm really excited for JEFF. I watched a video of them playing roo 2011 and the crowd was going insane so it should be a fun show.
I hate crowd surfers. They always fuck up everything. At the 2011 Black Keys show in the left side pit a guy that was roughly 6'1 and muscular was crowd surfing and landed on a girl we were with that is maybe 5'4 and 120 lbs. She was rattled and thankfully not hurt to bad. I just think it is a selfish and annoying thing to do at a concert when some people are interested in watching the band not holding your ass in the air.

It comes with the festival experience. It's bound to happen. At SoundGarden this year in dc, people crowd surfed on asphalt and it didn't end well for some but they got up and walked away with a lesson learned. Point being you cant stop em so watch out for em.
please do not crowd surf. you are an asshole if you crowd surf at bonnaroo. straight up asshole. People are there to enjoy the show, not prop you up so you can land a foot or knee to the back of someones head. If anyone is crowd surfing near me i will attempt to punch you in the genitals.

I was on the rail for both Bad Brains and Dillingers Escape Plan when they played respectively. I do not mind the moshing or the jumping but seriously, stop with the crowd surfing already. I have to spend most of the time looking behind me to make sure I do not get clocked (got kicked in the neck 3 times at Bad Brains, once at Dillingers). I have no problems with you feeling the music; I would just prefer not to feel you over top of me heading to the rail.

Kyng! Should be some pre-Björk thrashing going on at the back of the What field.
Worries me a little because I plan to be on the rail for this. I plan to thrash and jam as much as the next person (ask Vector Viking about The Melvins show. We headbanged and rocked out!) but seriously, crowd surfing in that small of a place will suck.

Yeah, honestly- if you're going to ride the rail, you have to expect a little crowdsurfery. It's just part of the deal. I'm usually either in the pit mixing it up, or in the back chilling and enjoying my elbow room. Squeezing in just to be close to the stage doesn't excite me much anymore.
Damn....a lot if hate for crowd surfing. It's just part of the deal at shows like this.
so it is perfectly ok for me to just run and jump at you at any moment and expect you to catch me? that is what crowd surfing is IMO. "Hey im gonna be an asshole everyone! catch me!".
I expect Death Grips to be one of the rowdiest, sweatiest crowds of the weekend
Also, I thought it was common knowledge that if you don't want to get kicked in the head at a punk or metal show, don't stand in the front. I get that it's annoying, but complaining about it is kind of like complaining that you smell corn at a Widespread Panic show. You know it's going to happen.

Ok well then it's just ok for me to start throwing punches and elbows at any "heavy" show I want? Good to know I'll start fighting people at Death Grips and when they complain I'll say "but it just comes with the show".

If you have the cojones to start a fight during Death Grips, I wish you the best of luck good sir.
