I may not be doing this right - i didn't read the rules on how to create threads - so please forgive my ignorance but I'm attempting to create a thread for people to post reports from the scene.......since the gates open today there are a ton of people already there.....what are your experiences so far.....
Well it looks like it's going to be in the mid-90s today so maybe it will dry it up some. So the question becomes - mud vs. dust? If you gotta have one, which one would it be? I'm thinking maybe mud over dust.....a good pair of shoes will take care of the mud but the dust can quack you up....

Mud. So long as it's reasonable. I came home last year with a respiratory infection from hell due to the dust. Spending Saturday and Sunday sick was no fun at all.

Glad I waterproofed my tent's footprint. I think I'll take mud over dust. My Chacos will do just fine. The only thing I brought to sit on during shows is a cotton sheet, though, so that kinda stinks.
How can people set up in tent only already? Gates don't open until 8?
They probably let people in due to the lines already forming, there were people in line from Inforoo at 8am this morning on the West Toll Booth
No one has been allowed in yet. Gates are closed. I'm a West Tollbooth volunteer and will report to work at 3pm. I bet gates might open around 4. The people in Tent Only are vendors and a couple Vols who moved over from BFE (I walked over there and talked with them)

It is muddy in all the normal spots (low places). The sun is very hot though, and more is drying up each second. But when traffic starts going, it could be a little messy. All in all, the dust level is super low for the traffic, which is when most of it gets thrown around and then those sinus infections get started. So we're good. Centeroo should be pretty dry by tomorrow (What Stage even more likely to dry up). It's in the 90's here. Don't rush to get here if you're driving.
