15 minutes until showtime in Dallas and the place is empty. The streets are covered in ice and traffic is moving at a steady 10 miles per hour however.
One of my best buds lives in Dallas. He's being saying the entire Metroplex has been freaking out due to the weather.
My buddy says this about getting to Yeezus tonight, " Dude...remember snowpocolypse in ATL a few years back? Well take that, multiply it by the worst drivers in the country, divide by 15 degree temps and it'll equal a clusterf*ck."
BTW, it's also Friday night. I'm sure there are a lot of fans still toking and drinking before they get in. Atlanta was almost the same way on a Sunday. By the time Kanye comes on, it will fill out.
Yeah, besides the floor spots and the two upper levels, the place had a good crowd by the middle of Kendrick. I was at the top and at the start of "Power" the usher came and asked the few of us there if we would like to go to the floor. Of course we all got our wristbands and then ran down the escalator. Kanye really made the show an experience, like a rock-opera. The rant was a bit of a momentum killer. No lashing out at anyone particular, just a radio DJ who went unnamed that tried to tell Kanye how he should do things. He worked the crowd really well and was all smiles once "White Jesus" removed his mask. I think my favorite performances were "Jesus Walks", "I'm In It" with the simulated orgy, and "Hold My Liquor" with that goblin/wolf creature with the glowing eyes lurking over Ye's shoulder on the mountain.
Oh yeah. "Blood on the Leaves" was hype with the fireworks and the way Kanye made the crowd work to hear it. When he felt they didn't sing the opening loud enough he stopped it and told us he didn't think we really wanted to hear "Blood On The Leaves" that night. The crowd was ready for their next queue.
Moved to the floor on a $20 ticket. Catching my breath during this rant.
I'm so glad you got a rant. Wouldn't be a Kanye show without one.
It's in all the setlists I think. I laughed. He said he had a a dream he could make his stage rise and he made the stage rise. He also reminded us he is not humble and he is 10 ft., no 100 ft., wait 1,000 ft tall and the only two types of peope in the world are dreamers and haters.
Got the cheapest seats possible, hoping we get moved down a little. For those that have been moved down, how did that work?
Went to get my seat in 200 section and they said, you are moving. Go trade your tickets in for a lower seat. If we had known and gotten there earlier we could have gotten even closer.

Did he do it in Auto-Tune?
Yeah. Its started after "Runaway". Kanye said he was going to choose what he was going to do next based on the crowds response to this question sang in auto-tune, "Can I talk my shit tonniiiiggghhhht? I'm gonna talk my shit tooonnniiiggghhhht."

Dispatches from the Kanye War:
Two people on my facebook posted the link to the Daily Currant article where they said Kanye said he will be a bigger civil rights icon tha Nelson Mandela. Both got explained to them what the Daily Currant was. On one link, tone of the person's other friends responded to the explanation with "he's sick... either way... sick." It's not "either way" though. It makes a difference if the article is fake or not regardless of how you feel about the guy in general.

That is exactly how it went in Atlanta. It sucks that he is doing the same exact thing in every city, but I thought his rant thing was actually charming and made him out to be a very likable person.

Only mention of Mandela last night was him asking us to throw peace signs in the air for him at the end of the rant.
As far as the topic of the thread, it would be an amazing headlining show, but I think the tour will be over by June and to bring this stage setup they would have to alter the middle of the pit.
