The Flaming Lips - I care for like 3 songs. I don't get it the appeal at all, and yes I seen them live he walks around in a ball and there is confetti. whooo! Beyonce- although I never really had to express that I didnt like Beyonce till I started posting on here. I just assumed it was mostly women between the ages of 14-25 who liked her.
Logically, I should probably enjoy The Replacements. I'm a huge Wilco fan, and Jeff Tweedy has said multiple times that everything Wilco does is based on the Replacements. There are a couple Paul Westerberg solo songs I like, but as for the 'Mats themselves? There are two, maybe three songs tops I can stand to listen to from start to finish. The rest just ranges from blah to ugh. Am I missing something here?

is on his way to your house now to dickpunch you. Prepare accordingly.

Yeah, I kinda figured that would happen. It probably doesn't help that one of the few songs I can tolerate is Color Me Impressed, which I'm guessing is like saying Creep is your favourite Radiohead song.
Thankfully I A) live really, really far away, and B) have an army of dropbears to unleash on him in the apartment stairwell. Sorry in advance, (and I take it you're probably not too happy about my Bruce comments earlier, either). I'll take you out for brews on the beach afterward to make up for it?
I usually tell people to try earlier stuff (if they dislike the later material) and vice-verse. It's almost two separate bands. If you've tried both and still dislike, just lie to me. You avoid dickpunches that way.

No, really - if you have any suggestions on where to start (either with earlier or later work), I am all ears. Certainly they wouldn't be the first band I've been indifferent to for years until something just clicked (that list includes The Dead and *gasp* MMJ). And I apologise for your making your world weep. FWIW, mine did the same when you said you only heard a little bit of Macca at Roo on your way to late night. Call it a truce?
Actually, I'll tell you what - since you are nobly making your way through 1,001 albums this year, many of which you don't like, I shall make a concession. Suggest one earlier album and one later album, and I'll give them each a spin within the week and let you know what I think (or I may just lie to avoid transcontinental dickpunches). There is a catch, though - you have to tell me what these are:
I swear on a litter of newborn puppies your secret is safe with me.
Or - because I'm feeling extra masochistic tonight - keep me updated on all the expunged names between now and Roo, and I will make my way through this by lineup release day (and promise not to pass out in the middle):

I'm not going to argue with taste but the lips are wizards of sound. The brains of the operation is really the synth/guitar/other guy, Steven Drozd. I consider him one of my music idols. Look more into him if you get a chance.
As for the STS9 I can't get into them at all. I've seen them like 4 times at festivals and never been into it at all. They have a few good songs but that's about it. That one guitar jam sound they do drives me insane too.
