Kings of Leon playing first was weird. Alicia Keys started off really rough but did get a bit better. Elvis Costello was kind of pointless. Janelle Monae is an angel who I wish had a full set. Mayer tore it up and even did some things he hasn't done on tour yet. Stevie was very unorganized and cut way too short but sounded good. The crowd's refusal to sing was awkward. Overall, this year wasn't as good as last year. It was really unorganized and they were too strict about the 50min set times.

I agree 100 percent with your statement. I was really impressed with John Mayer's set. I've seen him before and have left disappointed, mainly because I am not a fan of his whole catalog and he spends so much time talking like a pretentious d-bag . But giving him 50 minutes was great, cause he basically said, "watch how good I am" and just ripped it for the whole set. Stevie Wonder was great at times, but it felt like they didn't even rehearse the set before hand.
Overall I was a little disappointed because I didnt go last year, and my friends were raving about how good it was. Although I did have fun and its always great to be in NYC, I dont think I would do something like this again, mainly because I dont think its worth the long trip.
