Can't wait to see how they end this incredible tour.
So. Effing. Stoked.
Very jealous. I know everyone expects the hometown shows to be special for a band but that doesn't always end up being the case. With the emphasis they have put on the individual cities this tour, I expect something nuts. I can't wait to see find out what they do. Have fun!!!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Intervention, We Used to Wait, Haiti, and Empty Room?
Words cannot describe how fucking jealous I am of everyone who went to the second Chicago show. Three of my favorite songs, plus goddamn Mavis Staples?!
I swear to god every time I try to catch a band on the first night of a multi-night run, I get fucked over. Every time I see them the last night, I get a top 10 in my life show. This sealed it, I will only be catching last shows from now until forever. /endrant
Glad you got an awesome show, though! *grumble*
To be fair, you guys did get Month of May. But I couldn't have picked out a better setlist myself than what I got to see.
Anecdote: Right before Intervention started, I turned to my friend and told him "If only they played Intervention and ATB."
Then Win yelled "Let's go to church!" and there was peace.
I was giddy like a schoolgirl throughout the entire show. I will admit that Sprawl II was a tad underwhelming though. It's my favorite song, and I really expected something more massive. That's a nitpick, though., and they were the greatest show I've ever seen.
I'm really looking forward to seeing them on their next tour, but I feel that, for the moment, this 7 gig stretch (Barclays to Jean-Drapeau) is the band at the height of their powers.

My whining is mostly in jest, our concert was really good. It was a great show, though it wasn't my favorite concert of the year (hard to top Neil Young, Jack White at Roo, Outkast, though). It's more just that the last stretch "We Used to Wait" up to the end of the main set was tailored just for me, and I missed it. I think if I was at your show and on the floor, it could've competed with my top 3 from this year.
Still really glad I went, and next time maybe I'll be on the floor.
Edit: Forgot to mention my few real nitpicks: I thought that the technical difficulties really derailed my momentum. Nothing like getting psyched for Joan of Arc, realizing something is very wrong, and then hearing Win rage-singing your favorite song until they fixed the problem and started over. Plus I would've liked Haiti more at the top of the set, I felt like it wrecked the flow towards the end.

After a quick look this was the best video I've found. Once I get home, and back onto WifFi I will see if there's something else.
Great show! It's hard to challenge the Bonnaroo show, but this could come very close. The confetti cannons during Here Comes the Night Time followed by the fireworks during Wake Up.....wow.
Set list:
Blade Runner (Main Titles) (Vangelis song) Reflektor Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) Rebellion (Lies) Joan of Arc Empty Room (slowed-down intro) The Suburbs The Suburbs (Continued) Ready to Start Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) We Exist Keep the Car Running (w/ 'My Body Is a Cage' acapella intro) No Cars Go Haïti Afterlife It's Never Over (Oh Orpheus) (Régine on B-stage) Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) ('Damian Taylor Remix' intro)
Encore: Une colombe (Céline Dion song) (Fake band on stage) Normal Person I'll Believe In Anything (Wolf Parade cover) Here Comes the Night Time Wake Up
Loved the show! Spoon were great as was Dan Deacon, it got me pumped up and the crowd seemed really energetic.
I don't like how they're playing Power Out and Rebellion so early, but otherwise am happy with the set list. I was really hoping to hear Rococo and Neighbourhood #2 (Laika). The Celine song was something I joked about earlier and I used it as a chance to rest my legs.....im still sore from how much I danced.
Crowd was good, venue was really well set up in terms of access to beer, water, and food as well as sight lines. Portos were a pain in the ass, but that's just something I'm used to. Also may have used the woods due to not wanting to miss songs.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

I had a ticket to the showing in NJ tonight, got an email yesterday that it got cancelled =(
sorry to hear! That's so disappointing when things gets cancelled last minute. I went to a hockey game last night and only got 4 hours of sleep. I have to unpack from moving, fly to Seattle in about 12 hours, and my friend cancelled on me who was suppose to come to the showing. It doesn't seem like it's in the cards for me to make it tonight but I really want to go.
At least the EP was interesting. "Soft Power" and "Crucified Again" are really good songs.
I thought Women of A Certain Age was the best b-side. It's the closest song I can see actually being on the proper record. Maybe could've replaced the atrocious "Normal Person".
Does anyone know if there will be venue presales (specifically Atlanta)? I'll be at bonnaroo during the regular on sale time so I doubt I'll be able to get one then and I didn't sign up for the newsletter until today.
