why does it make you laugh if somebody wants avicii there? i can see it being funny if they've only heard wake me up and wanna hear that. but i saw him back in jan of 2012 and even then i still think he puts on a really fun show
If I'm being realistic with myself though, LN Which will prolly go to mau5 or BN like you said.. I'm just saying I hope not because it's getting boring... If Disclosure keeps climbing in popularity I could see them getting that position as well.
i would love to see above and beyond there! they're probably my favorite edm act and always put on one hell of a show! just don't know if trance will get to the farm anytime soon
We can dream of an A&B roo set.... Pryda is doing a tour right now, and he HATES flying and being outside, so getting him to the farm would be hardish.
Moby and Chem Bros have been pretty silent, but that new Moby album... so who knows
Disclosure is pretty much confirmed right? they can take a LN tent.
Guys we completely forget one cool thing... SHPONGLE is touring 2014 ))
2014 Festivals:
Ultra Music Festival Buenos Aires
A State of Trance Buenos Aires
Ultra Music Festival Miami
EDC Las Vegas
Bonnaroo
Electric Forest
Lollapalooza

Gave him a chance at Ultra 2012, he played, i kid you not, 20 minutes of Levels. So NO I don't want Avicii there lol.

Disclosure is far from confirmed. We just know they'll be stateside the week during Roo.
Moby just played a huge show in Brooklyn last month with Mimosa RJD2 and Pantyraid.. Plus he played Coachella last year.. Out of the ones I listed, I'd say he's the most likely.
Shpongle would be cool and has played roo before. But I'd put their popularity on the same level as Disclosure.

EDM headliner is most likely going to be Mau5 or Bassnectar. Id love to see Pretty Lights with his band again (at Roo nonetheless) but im not getting my hopes up for a repeat.
Big G, Girl Talk, Shpongletron 3.0, Disclosure and/or STS9 will be all I need. Above & Beyond would be amazing. Please no Skrillex.
W&W, Bingo Players, TJR/ other not top grossing DJ's should release new tour dates after the new year.
Feed Me could be touring new album.
Aoki could be possible (hes overseas currently), although no thank you.
Misc: Destroid and/or Excision and Downlink, Boregore, Feed Me, Jack U, Kill Paris, Crizzly, Jack Beats, Flux, Birdie NamNam, Dog Blood, Dillon Francis, Girl Talk, Diplo, Opiuo, Koan Sound, Noisia, Kill the Noise, 12th planet, Rusko
Unlikely: Boards of Canada, Daft Punk, French Kiwi Juice
Artists in bold are my picks for 2014!
It just so happens that EDM is my forte. Let me break it down for yall
LN Which: deadmau5 is touring 2014, this much is known, he's debuted a new show at Hard DOTD La last month, so very strong chance of seeing him at Roo. Justice is my favorite group of ALL TIME, I would do everything to see them on the farm. But I know my parisian brothers, and they ONLY tour after their new albums drop, and last week they said that it wouldn't be before early 2015. Rob Swire of Knife Party says he wants to take a hiatus for a couple months in 2014 to focus on writing music for new albums for Pendulum and KP, not sure when said hiatus will take place, but def. not expecting them. Bassnectar, love nectar, and he loves these types of fests, and he's got that new album . Avicii, just LOL if you actually want him there. No. Big Gigantic, I would love, though I expect nectar and the mau5 over Big G to be there.
Trap: Clockwork/RL Grime was there last year (the set was amazing btw, I went animalistic) BUT that was only because the Fool's Gold records guys were there! (A-trak, Boys Noize, Aarabmuzik, and ClockWork are ALL on Fool's gold records) I can maybe see Baauer there, other than that I don't think AC is focused on getting trap dudes up there
House: I'm french, and I'd love to see Madeon there, out of all of them I see him there the most. I'm expecting more something along the lines of Zedd next roo.
Misc: Jack U is touring and is doing Coachella, so we'll see. The rest are kind of in the air, I don't see Ex bringing Destroid around to the farm, but I'd love to see it.
Unlikely: Please don't start Daft Punk rumors, as a family friend of Paul de Homem-Christo, Guy's brother, I can guarantee you that DP will not be on the farm anytime soon.
I must be the only person I've ever come in contact with who prefers Pretty Lights DJ set over seeing him with his band.
i haven't seen any of his actual band show but i think i probably would prefer it without them, his sound is so unique anyways and that 4 hr set last year was so awesome, life highlight

I can get behind you on that one. I saw the Analog show last month and while it was good, I wasn't blown away. The lazer shark has just been killing it (ya know, the good way) for him lately (I get more caught up in what he can do than what DVS is doing). But anyway, I'm impartial to the live band.
Pryda is doing a tour right now, and he HATES flying and being outside, so getting him to the farm would be hardish.
But he lives in the states now and has been playing every corner of the country for the past year. Getting him to Nashville is no less likely then the shows he's been playing in LA/NY/Chicago/DC.

Seeing Sphongle in March!! EeeEeeeEEE (Last time was maybe 1.5 years ago...and WOWZA)!!
I would like to see someone new if there is going to be a LN Which EDM show. Something like Moby, Massive Attack, Fatboy Slim, Or the elusive Lemon Jelly reunion. For tent acts I have seen Emancipator twice this year and I thought both sets were great to just get down and dance to.

see i think we all aruge about who and what and where, but we'd really like something to just get down and dance to, give me some lazers and lights and lets go
They're talented dudes, and what other EDM act could do a LN which? None of my trance guys like Armin would be invited. Hardwell, Tiesto, and Co. make me want to puke. I know for a fact that Skrillex is touring hardcord in 2014, but I assumed no since it's too early for his come back to roo
LN Which isn't exactly always designated as being for an EDM Act.. But I would prefer for them to think outside the box and go with someone like Moby, Chemical Bros, Underworld, ect. Or maybe just litter the undercard with edm acts and give LN Which to someone from a different genre... Maybe LN tent spots for STS9, Flume, SBTRKT, Gramatik, ect.
Tribe did just announce tour dates not too long ago for early next year. Thoughts on a LN Which slot for them? (Not 'popular' enough?) They played LN tent spot a couple of years ago that went til about 7am I think (I remember the sun being fully up on the walk back to our tent) and seemed to be pretty packed. I don't know if they could pull enough of a crowd over to LN Which though...

I like EDM but I am pretty picky about what I like, as far as I am concerned all the trap, dubstep, and associated acts can stay at home. Sasha and Digweed 07 was one of the best shows I have ever seen at Bonnaroo though. Lights and lasers are fun but I at least want something with a solid beat that you can dance to.

Not big enough I think =\... But another tent show would be awesome! Like I said, I would be find with them not having a LN Which EDM show this year if it meant littering the undercard with acts like STS9, SBTRKT, and Amon Tobin.
Pretty Lights is the equivalent of lip synching. Dude just presses "play".
Thats the most uneducated post I ever seen. Not only is he one of the few in the EDM genre who dont "just press play", but this guy produces, creates, composes all his own material. Hes not a DJ. He composed his own collection of in studio jams and pressed it to vinyl to sample from for CMOTS. Every sample he uses has his own spin and not pulled right from the audio. He now tours with a 7 piece band that brings life and definition to an already amazing catalog.
This is a Monome. Its one of the many pieces of equipment he uses during his live show. Thats alot of buttons to just press play. Using that in sync to a full band is alot to do for just pressing play rather then these DJ's out there turning knobs, adjusting with eqs, and playing material that they didnt even create.

Just to chime in here, deadmau5 did not debut a new show at Hard Day of the Dead. He had his old cube and played some new songs but there was nothing really new about the show itself.

Just had a thought: will counterpoint artists not be able to play at Roo? I kept seeing people say Outkast can only play Roo or Counterpoint due to radius clauses.

Thank you thank you thank you. Some people have zerrrro idea
Just found out I scored a free ticket to see PL tonight with Tegan and Sara and Chromeo. But some of my friends are also having a friendsgiving potluck tonight that I had committed to.... I can't decide which one to go to =\
If I go see PL I'll be flying solo and Iv already seen him 11 times (doesn't get old for me though). But I also have anxiety disorder and wasn't really looking forward to this dinner to begin with (just felt pressured by friends). Ugh!
