Any time the Spurs are in the Finals the ratings are terrible. They are a boring ass team, the same goes for the Pacers. Worst case scenario is Pacers/Spurs, best case is Thunder/Heat. Although I can't stand the Heat at least they can be fun to watch. The NBA needs Durant in the finals. If OKC loses to SAS then I'll skip the finals all together. The Spurs remind me of the New England Patriots, they're good but haven't won in a while and you know they don't have a shot this year. I wonder how much money Mayweather's gonna make from the Heat this year.

If it's thunder/heat brace yourself for the inevitable Durrant/Oden overplayed storyline coverage.

Anyone who appreciates good basketball should enjoy watching the spurs. I understand your point, but the hero ball OKC plays is almost frustrating to watch compared to actual plays being ran and smart decisions being made. I can definitely appreciate their style and I liked seeing the different styles in the finals last year, which were great last year. Not sure how you could possibly think a 7 game series that was a Ray Allen three from going the other way was boring. Maybe to people that are only in it for fast breaks and star power.

I completely agree. Game 6 and 7 of last year's Finals were must watch. Duncan missing 2 automatic point-blank put backs, Ray shooting an iconic 3, LeBron losing his headband in route of dominating during that period. Danny Green breaking the record for most 3s in a Finals series. Game One was won by a crazy shot by Parker, that crazy block LeBron against Splitter. If the Spurs had won the series, it could easily be argued that Duncan is a top 10 all time great.
That OKC/MIA Finals was just atrocious to watch. When they have the ball in their half court offense, it's basically Durant/Westbrook vs 5 defenders and quite a few times they have to throw up a prayer when the shot clock gets low.
The Pacers are just uuugggghhhh, at least the Spurs pass the ball.

I get what you guys are saying, I'm just not a fan of the Spurs. They annoy me more than anything I guess. Similar situation with Miami but for different reasons. I'd much rather watch Durant have a huge game than watch the fundamentally sound Spurs get coached to victory. Pop is an excellent coach and gets the best out of his team, it's just not what I enjoy watching. I like seeing the superstars have ridiculous games and even knowing there's a shot for that is enough for me. I mean, I despise Lebron but when he's on fire he's fun to watch. Plus he gives me somebody to root against. Durant is similar except he gives me somebody to root for. I'm not a fan of Westbrook either so it makes it even harder to enjoy the Thunder. And the Pacers without Reggie is terrible to watch. George can be fun but he's just not enough for me to enjoy the Pacers.
As for Timmy, I already have him as my number 1 PF of all time so I'd probably have him in my top 15, the only PF who I'd consider over him would be the Mailman. Top 10 would be a tough sell for me.
In no particular order, Jordan, Wilt, Russell, Magic, Hakeem, Kobe, Bird, Lebron, Shaq, Robertson, Kareem, Duncan, Malone, Stockton, Barkley.
fantasy lineup PG Magic SG Jordan SF Lebron PF Duncan C Olajuwon(partially because he's my favorite player)

Even though I said what I said about the Thunder I still love watching them. Durant's a good guy to root for and for better or worse Westbrook is one of the most entertaining players to watch. I adore his energy and athleticism. But, they are so frustrating to root for in any particular game. When westbrook was out the Durant/Ibaka pick and roll was looking really nice when Durant was killing that pocket bounce pass btw the split to serge. Other than that they just dont have a great looking offense.
I hate watching the Pacers on offense even more though.
Perhaps I'm biased, but I love to watch the Spurs with they're "boring" play. I love to be able to watch a team play as a complete unit, versus watching two/three stars run a game. Crossing fingers that the Spurs depth will be enough to overcome the juggernaut that is Lebron/Wade this year!

Chances the Cavs fuck up again and take a project #1 overall the second year in a row? Not sure I trust John Hammond enough to not take Embiid so hopefully Cleveland takes care of that for him.

If the Cavs pass on him he'll end up as the next Hakeem. If they take him he'll bust.
He has big time potential. If the health isn't an issue he's top 3 for sure.
I'm a little upset the Magic fell to 4, but Exum would be fine for me if what these people say is true. I also would love to see AA + 12 get us up in the 6-8 range. That could be really nice.
Well that was an interesting half in the Western Conference Finals. I was almost certain that Ibaka would be back for this game after it was announced he was on a day to day basis...didn't think he'd be this impactful after his in jury. One half left...let's make it a 3-0 series...GO SPURS GO!!!
And what a win at home! GO SPURS GO!!! Sorry to those that find good "team" basketball a bore
I too like the team aspect. Does home field advantage really make that big of a difference? It seems like the home team has won easily in both of these series.
The Spurs are not great theater, but they are GREAT basketball. I hope they win again. It's just tremendous to see the Lebron getting (and asking for) all of the attention as the greatest ever (and well-deserved attention), while he has half as many titles as the boring guys in the other conference.
Hellz yeah to the Spurs!!! "Spurs not great theater"? I'll disagree. When the Spurs are in a great groove (passing the ball, making 3's, getting shots in the paint and in mid-range) it is great theater! However, if you're just looking for a team that has one or two guys on commercials, one or two guys that score nearly (and sometimes over) 2/3 to 3/4 of the team's points then I guess Spurs ball is not for you. Anywho, GO SPURS GO!!! This is our year!
This is pretty much the epitome of that fucking team.
Hmm...that is boring basketball? I'd say that's excellent ball handling, followed by excellent coaching. My honest opinion, of course. Please tell me, when in trouble, how many players does Miami have to pass to that are dependable shooters. @glenron, you've stated all you want is a magnificent "star" running the show, just so there's all the pretty fast breaks and dunks. If that's you're idea of "great" basketball, well I'm sorry, friend, but the Spurs will soon deflate that ideology with their "complete" team play. Now that Ginobli is somewhat back (he's one of the reasons they lost last season, IMHO...he was completely absent in the Finals), and Ka"wow" Leanard and the bench are on fire the Spurs will rightfully bring that trophy to SA! GO SPURS GO!!! However, some will say the style of play is "boring". LMFAO!!!

Uh, I think you're confusing me with someone else, cause I've literally said none of those things.
And I posted that GIF cause I thought it was an incredible play, not because I think it's boring.

I stand corrected. For incorrectly saying what I did, I apologize. I did have a lot to drink when I wrote that (never a good excuse). My only guess as to why I said that would be because I saw the top post on page 5 where you state "who wants to see the best teams etc, etc. Last years finals blew." Considering that statement, I accidentally confused you with someone else, and misunderstood the meaning behind the gif. Not a good excuse, either way...just my only defense.
GO SPURS GO!!!
Edit: Looking back, I can see how, in a drunken state, I took several people's posts, and combined them all into one person's posts....if that makes any sense. The fact that the top post on page 5 belonged to you, @glenron, I accidentally assumed you made all the comments against the "boring" Spurs. For that, I sincerely apologize.
Figured I'd stay out of this thread while drinking and watching some good ol' bball...didn't want to mistakenly accuse anyone of anything.
Hope all of you that went to Roo had a safe and great time there and traveling back home. Would have loved to have been there, but I will be in NYC/Jersey this coming week to see me little sis graduate from med school so I couldn't get the time off of work. Also, had I gone, I would not have been able to be a part of a crazy downtown San Antonio last nite!
Glad that "team" basketball paid off over "superstardom". Glad that the San Antonio Spurs are a "team that was built, not bought" (lmao)! Glad that with the exception of one two-point loss at home (due to missed free-throws and way too many turnovers), all the games were blowouts. Overall, just super happy for my San Antonio Spurs, and the city of SA!
A theme that keeps on popping up in all the reports today is "depth"...the lack of for Miami, and the greatness of depth that is the Spurs. For Miami's sake, I hope they go for more competitive role players, instead of going for Melo (another superstar). We shall also so who decides to stay with them.
Can't wait to see national Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, and Leonard commercials for State Farm, Nike, AT&T, etc etc. Oh wait, we're the San Antonio Spurs, and we have no need for that garbage! Bwahahahaaa!!!

Sad I missed these finals but pretty happy for the outcome. Part of me wishes I was conscious during the era of the greatest bball player ever, but that's over now. Lebron is a Ray Allen second chance corner three from being 1/5 in the finals. 2/5 now. Long way from 6/6.
At the same time Lebron has always been a little bit of a villian in my eyes since the decision. That whole thing still feels like a cheat code to me for some reason. The Spurs are the poster child for how an organization should be run and maintained over time. Incredibly impressive.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
