I don't care what day they play or where it is but I hope they play at sunset. I saw them in Atlanta and it was such a fun sing-a-long type set; it was an absolute blast.

Seen them twice already, but I'm still going to feel the pressure to see them at Bonnaroo should a conflict arise. The sing along will be legendary, and the crowd will be a lot more into it than they were at The Ryman.

I feel the same way as you. Singing along to everything (and shouting along to Holland, 1945) gave me goosebumps in a 1,200 person venue. I can't comprehend what it would be like at Roo.
Just started listening to Aeroplane and am absolutely hooked. I feel like they would be perfect for a sunset set. Pre-lineup I was hoping they'd get the What, but now I think the lineup is a bit too stacked for that. Either way, I'm excited.
Two-Headed Boy The Fool Holland, 1945 A Baby for Pree Gardenhead / Leave Me Alone Everything Is The King of Carrot Flowers, Part One The King of Carrot Flowers, Parts Two & Three In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Naomi April 8th Oh Comely Song Against Sex Ruby Bulbs Snow Song, Part One
Encore: Ghost [untitled] Two-Headed Boy, Part Two
Encore 2: Ferris Wheel on Fire Engine
And man, lemme tell you. They may not sound impressive on album, but Leave Me Alone and Ruby Bulbs are amazing live. Those horns will delicately slay all.

NMH was always a band I never listened to, and while I suspected I'd like them I never took the time to listen. Finally made the dive when I saw them on the lineup and so happy I did. This is my favorite discovery of this lineup. I hate that the lineup is so stacked there's bound to be someone else I love conflicting with them
I thought I was probably going to skip this set since I'm looking into Pitchfork, they're playing nearby if I don't go, Jeff Mangum solo underwhelmed me, etc; but then Two-Headed Boy played while I was walking, causing me to tear up. I'll be bawling when I hear it in June, I'm certain.

With how stacked this lineup is, I don't think NMH fits in anywhere besides playing before the preheadliner on the What stage or before the group that closes the Which stage. That seems crazy, but this lineup is crazy.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Ok so based on the schedule released on the app today, NMH is closing This Tent on Friday. The conflicts with Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, and Chvrches is killer, but overall an easy decision. I've seen the others, and probably can again, but who knows with NMH? They really should have a stage. I'm a little nervous with them being in a tent that it will be ridiculously packed... but those huge conflicts will probably draw away much of the crowd, right? I'm thinking I'll get there about halfway through andrew bird just to make sure I don't get shut out of this one. I don't want to be 100 yard behind the back of the tent for this show.
This was my most-anticipated show of the weekend, but now that it looks like they'll be closing a tent and up against other bands I want to see, I'm not so sure. I'd be catching Jake Bugg (who I could probably catch at Firefly instead) and Andrew Bird (who I don't care about) while missing Janelle Monae, VW, and Phoenix, just so I could get a good spot for NMH (because fuck not being up close for them). That's a hell of a lot of sacrifice for one show. I might just forgo their Roo show and catch them when they come to Philly.

To think this sounded crazy a week ago and now we find they're probably closing a tent.

Yeah, that and Frank Ocean also in a tent. This place is crazier than Cloud Cuckoo Palace.
I mean, you could probably catch Janelle at least and get there halfway through andrew bird and get a reasonable spot...right?
I hope so, because I'm planning to do something similar. Can't miss this show for anything
I think you're safe to get a good spot. CHVRCHES is a huge draw, so is VW, and Phoenix too. Honestly at Coachella over half the people I talked to were just there to get a spot for Lana Del Ray afterwards. I don't know how they aren't an enormous draw, but they aren't relative to the acts they're against. It will be a full tent, but nothing like Florence in 2011.
It was phenomenal. That crowd was tremendous and they responded so awesomely. Much more energy than at Mountain Oasis and that show was the best I saw that weekend.
Recently, Netural Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum began selling new, original handmade drawings as part of a series called “the book cipher sings.” Mangum has been selling his art on the NMH site since 2005, but the most recent batch has led to increased speculation that new music is on the way. Now, one Redditor who purchased some art has pointed out that the words “double album” are written at the top of a particular piece, along with various question marks. Another drawing says “double awol bombe”–a drawn out spelling of double album. And in yet another picture, there’s “double” at the top, and the letters “L” and “P” upside-down beneath the faces of the main figures.
Below, see the primary image in question, which says “double album.” See more drawings here and here. Pitchfork reached out to Neutral Milk Hotel’s reps, who could not offer any confirmation.
In another thread, one user has offered more potential evidence suggesting more Neutral Milk Hotel music is on the way. First, the drawing displayed on the sale page has “1st,” “2nd,” and “3rd” on it. The band has released two albums–1996’s On Avery Island and 1998’s beloved In the Aeroplane Over the Sea–which could suggest a third is forthcoming. In addition, the drawing’s description includes the word “steganography,” which is a message concealed in another message–something that Mangum could very well be doing with his drawings.
